Cosplay is such a significant part of people’s lives now that they love to dress up as people or even things they love. The best thing about cosplay that it isn’t limited to only gaming; cosplayers can become anything they want to, not just only heroes and villains from popular shows and games.

But what about the array of monsters and god knows else what that plague and inhabit the worlds of these, games, animes and films? Well, these talented individuals have decided to cosplay the creatures from the cards of the hit Yu-Gi-Oh anime series. So, here are the ten best Yu-Gi-Oh creature cosplays.

10 Obelisk The Tormentor

Now, who doesn’t want to be an Egyptian God card? Obelisk The Tormentor is one of three legendary god cards that hold imaginary power in the Yu-Gi-Oh series. Obelisk, is well known for his fixed ATK and DEF, which out of the three god cards is unique.

However, this cosplayer felt like they wanted to become this god card, but how to create such a massive thing? Well, cosplayer Mysk_Amakudari made the entire thing out of foam, because they at least wanted to move around. And best of all, this cosplayer captured his toothy grin perfectly.

9 Exodia

Exodia is a set of five incredibly rare cards in the original Yu-Gi-Oh series. That if you do somehow managed to get all five cards in a single match, then it’s an automatic win, regardless if you were currently losing. However, as playing cards is basically RNG, you have to get extremely lucky in getting five cards out of a 40/60 card deck.

Yet if you make the cosplay yourself, then you’re always going to win, just as this cosplayer momo_rex_tos did. This Exodia cosplay is truly amazing and has excellent attention to detail. Now, does he come apart in five bits or?

8 Celtic Guardian

The Celtic Guardian is one of the most powerful basic monster cards, protagonist Yugi Moto uses in his deck, and it’s helped him out a plethora of times. In appearance, he actually looks like a Yu-Gi-Oh version of the hero Link from The Legend of Zelda series.

Now Reddit user kidkapelski, decided to cosplay the Celtic guardian, and he wore it to a Renaissance Fair, which oddly enough the cosplay blended into the times of old incredibly well. Kidkapelski said on his post, “When you have the ren faire at 3 but yugioh at 4” and nothing has ever been so accurate.

7 Magician’s Valkyria

Magician’s Valkyria is a counterpart to Dark Magician Girl, and the name Valkyrie is also a name for a witch. Sadly this card is never used in the anime series but instead is part of the Yu-Gi-Oh movie, Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Pyramid of Light. She is a spellcaster and has the effect that your opponent cannot target face-up Spellcaster-Type monsters for attacks, except for her. So basically, this card is a shield for other cards.

Sophie’s Cosplay does a fantastic job of bringing this creature card to life, even though it’s not one of Yugi’s most used cards, this cosplay is genuinely awe-inspiring.

6 Dark Magician Girl

When Magician’s Valkyria is the counterpart to Dark Magician Girl, then, of course, it works the other way around. This creature card, when used on the field, gains 300 ATK when “Dark Magician” or “Magician of Black Chaos” in either player’s Graveyard. So this card is perfect for use as one of your last cards, but if the heart of the cards wills it.

Jellybooger cosplayed as the Dark Magician Girl as it’s perfect, all down to the tiny details of the character. She generally looks like a Yu-Gi-Oh monster character just popped right out of the card and wanted a photo shoot.

5 Magician of Black Chaos

The Magician of Black Chaos is one of the most powerful cards Yugi owns, and out of all the Dark Magicians, this card is the strongest. It can only be summoned by using Black Magic Ritual and sacrificing monsters to bring it to the field. Yugi’s deck is themed upon dark type creatures, and eventually, if the heart of the cards, aka the luck of the draw, pays off this is a creature he can summon to overwhelm his opponent.

CapsuleCorp does a brilliant job of building this Magician of Black Chaos, especially when it’s only shown off once in the Duel Kingdom series, that’s it, not genuinely much to go off. This cosplay brings the powerful magician in all its glory into reality.

4 Blue-Eyes White Dragon

Blue-Eyes White Dragon is one of the most iconic cards in the entire Yu-Gi-Oh series, and Seta Kaiba was the one who made it so popular. In the first episode of the anime series, this card was an essential part of it and has been Seto’s main cards for what seems to be eons now, especially since he’s the only one with the three cards remaining in the world.

This Blue-Eyes White Dragon cosplay is from the movie Yu-gi-oh Dark Side of Dimension, where the Dragon looks a lot more refined than the original one from Duelist Kingdoms. And Cosplayer Jihatsu has made it utterly wearable, so it looks like a piece of Genji fantasy armor. It’s truly breathtaking to see the detail and craftsmanship put into this cosplay.

3 Peten the Dark Clown

Peten the Dark Clown is another card that only in the movie Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Pyramid of Light, just like Magician’s Valkyria, was. These two were used in the same card battle — Yugi Moto vs. Seto Kaiba. Valkyria was used Yugi and Peten by Kaiba.

Even though this card is only seen once, it doesn’t stop fans from wanting to cosplay this creature, especially cosplayer WhiteUnicorn. It holds more esteem while at a convention, and someone recognizes the cosplayer as what they are. What’s even better is that WhiteUnicorn brought along a huge sized Peten the Dark Clown card to stand on, so it looks like they were really summoned to the land of the living.

2 Dark Magician

Now the Dark Magician is to Yugi what the Blue Eyes White Dragon is to Kaiba; it’s his favorite card. For people who have watched the anime series, this one card alone has won his battles so many times. And as his deck is comprised of this dark theme, that synergy to help him summon more and more powerful creatures to the field, and one of his most not powerful cards but pretty high up there is the Dark Magician.

No doubt this has been cosplayed all over the world. However, that didn’t stop Jihatsu once again, wanting to create one of his most favorite creature cards to life from Yu-gi-oh. This cosplay looks terrific, it truly looks like the Dark Magician is sick of being a card and is waiting for Yugi to yell Obliterate!

1 The Winged Dragon of Ra

Another Egyptian God card made real, and this time it’s The Winged Dragon of Ra. Sadly, Slipher the SkyDragon has not been included in this list to make up the trio. This God card has a fascinating gimmick, as it’s risk-reward. To summon this creature, three creatures have to be sacrificed, however, to give it ATK and DEF, your own life points have to be sacrificed. But depending on how much you sacrifice, depends on how powerful The Winged Dragon of Ra becomes, as this god gets all your LP that you gave up.

However, this card is a monstrous dragon, so without all the time in the world and some dedication, creating this encased massive dragon suit isn’t viable. But that didn’t stop cosplayer Xx-lil-xX from taking a different take on the monster. The cosplay is what The Winged Dragon of Ra would look like as a human, but still having its wings, and it’s no less effective as a result.
