The term “womanizer” isn’t usually one of endearment and typically refers to a pick-up artist intent on anything other than settling down. That said, some wear it as a badge of honor. After all, all is fair in love and war.

While most video games don’t explicitly promote promiscuity, a few select franchises make getting busy the name of the game, and, from the dystopic far-future of Cyberpunk 2077 to the medieval high fantasy realm of The Witcher, there’s quite a bit of womanizing going on. Say what you will about them, but there’s no denying that these ten video game characters have a way with women.

10 Michael Thorton - Alpha Protocol

A rare blunder from Fallout New Vegas and The Outer Worlds developers Obsidian, 2010’s Alpha Protocol was a third-person shooter/ARPG which featured a James Bond-esque plot rife with intercontinental espionage and extremely stiff facial animations. It received mixed reviews when it released in 2010 and has since been more or less forgotten.

However, it should be noted that the player character, Micheal Thorton, is a major womanizer. The game allows for more than a few unsanctioned activities with female operatives and associates—including a pretty steamy scene in which Thronton is bound to a table—and, if he is to be remembered for one thing, it would have to be his adulterous nature.

9 Niko Bellic - Grand Theft Auto IV

A rough-n-tumble gangster from the Eastern Bloc, Niko Bellic was hoping to start a new life for himself with his cousin in Liberty City prior to the events of Grand Theft Auto IV. It wouldn’t take long for him to be swallowed up by the underworld, however, and he’s gone down as one of the franchise’s most ruthless—and memorable—protagonists.

When not committing vehicular homicide, however, Niko went on more than his fair share of one-night stands. Perhaps he had his heartbroken when the first woman he met in the city betrayed him. Nevertheless, Bellic never seemed to be one to settle down.

8 Duke Nukem - Duke Nukem Franchise

This is a pretty obvious choice, but, when it comes to video game womanizers, Duke Nukem is more or less the king. On a never-ending quest to rescue hot babes from extraterrestrial invaders, Duke Nukem is simultaneously the most and least chivalrous gaming protagonist of all time.

In the real world, his one-note personality would probably work against him in the dating scene. Fortunately, the women in his games seemingly take one look at his boulder-sized biceps and instantly fall in love with him. Really, this franchise made a name for itself int eh late 90s thanks to its rampant sexism, and, for better or worse, it’s endemic to the character.

7 Commander Shepard - Mass Effect Franchise

Bioware’s seventh-generation Mass Effect trilogy is often celebrated as one of the greatest RPG series of all time. Offering up a dynamic, enthrall space opera plot and affording players an unprecedented amount of freedom, these titles were as groundbreaking as they were memorable.

However, when not questing to maintain the balance of the universe, Commander Shepard could pretty much get it on with anyone. Shepard could be either male or female, and the player need impose no limits on his or her sexual conquests. Age, gender, and species needn’t concern Shepard, and his or her unstoppable lust has become a meme among the game’s community.

6 Chris Redfield - Resident Evil Franchise

We know what you’re thinking. S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team member Chris Redfield has all of the charisma of a plank of wood, and, in later entries, seems more like a musclebound manifestation of pure zombie-killing zeal than an actual human, but hear us out.

Chris gets all the Resident Evilwomen: Rebecca takes care of him in the original game, he teams up with Sheva in RE 5, and, of course, he’s partnered with everyone’s favorite sandwich, Jill Valentine. He’s more of a womanizer than most realize, and, if Capcom ever saw fit to give him an ounce of genuine personality, who knows what could happen.

5 Edward Kenway - Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag

Edward Kenway may not be the first character to cross the mind of Assassin’s Creed fans, but this swashbuckler extraordinaire has captured our hearts both for his seafaring thrills and his real-life Romeo status.

He doesn’t operate as a typical womanizer, but we’ve got to give him points for his dogged pursuit of Caroline Scott, a noblewoman set to be betrothed to Matthew Hauge, the son of a powerful East India Company executive. Kenway never gives up, however, and the two were eventually married. Then, to prove his worth to Hauge, he embarked on a journey to strike it rich on the high seas. What a legend.

4 Richard La Ruina - Super Seducer

For the uninitiated, Super Seducer was a 2018 FMV game that played something akin to a modern recreation of the infamously terrible Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties. A creepy choose your own adventure title that was apparently intended to help men pick up women, Super Seducer was born of the mind of the self-described dating guru Richard La Ruina.

La Ruina plays the role of the game’s main character and is depicted picking up girls in several awkwardly-direct scenarios. Strange though he may be, he always seems to know the perfect thing to say. We’re not sure if this title was intended as a parody or not, but it eventually got a sequel, and, for some reason, a third game is on the way.

3 Larry Laffer - Leisure Suit Larry Series

Often considered to be one of the sleaziest video game protagonists of all time, Larry Laffer started his career as a desperate outcast eager to take at least one woman to bed in the 1987 Sierra point-and-click classic Leisure Suit Larry and the Land of the Lounge Lizards.

Though he would have tons of success both with women and in terms of sales in his subsequent adventures, his appeal soon faded, and, by the turn of the century, he was old news. Still, he holds a place in video game history for being perhaps the raunchiest player character ever to be rendered.

2 Geralt of Rivia - The Witcher Series

Don’t let the creepy cat eyes fool you, Geralt of Rivia is one smooth operator. This dude gets girls more easily than Onision gets YouTube hate, and his sexual conquests know absolutely no bounds.

Players seemingly can’t go more than an hour without bedding at least one high fantasy harlot, and the first Witchertitle offers up a sex scene literally at the end of the game’s tutorial. Plus, women in The Witcher series are often considered to be some of the finest NPCs gaming has to offer. You’d think his Witcher conditioning would reduce his sex drive, but that certainly doesn’t seem to be the case.

1 The Player - Huniepop

For those who haven’t checked out 2015’s ecchi puzzle bonanza Huniepop, the game is more or less a mash-up of Puzzle Quest and the five-terabyte homework folder you won’t let anyone open. The game is all about getting lucky, and the protagonist—a man or woman known only as “The Player”—really knows how to woo.

Meeting hentai hotties of all sorts, The Player gets intimate with all twelve women with the help of a magical love fairy named Kyu. The premise may seem silly, but it’s deeper than it seems, and the Huniepop protagonist definitely deserves a mention when it comes to gaming womanizers.
