Destiny 2 is packed with secret areas, hidden loot chests, and puzzles to open up cool areas and find fantastic weapons. It seems every now and then players are still discovering ways to access new areas and see new things.
Here are some examples of areas the average player may not be familiar with and some veterans have yet to find in their hunts. Hopefully, this game continues to remain a wondrous treasure hunt for the more curious fans out there.
10 Dreaming City Vendors
The Ahamkara are a powerful and mysterious species of shapeshifters that were once considered wish granters. After a great purge, these mysterious creatures became extinct and a living one hasn’t been found in some time.
It turns out you can not only find the remains of two of these creatures but also interact with and buy things from them. In a corner of Harbinger’s Seclude, you can find the skulls of Huginn and Muninn who will sell in exchange for Baryon Boughs, the Charge of Light Tier 2, and the Tincture of Queensfoil, and the last is key to finding further secrets in the Dreaming City.
9 Confluence
One of the more intriguing areas you can find in the Dreaming City is the hub known as the Confluence. This area is where players can find a valuable Ascendant Chest and is an aesthetically pleasing area to explore.
It’s one of the easier secrets to find on this list, as there are three ways to access it. Players simply need to find one of the three Taken Portals: the Rheasilvia Taken Portal, Gardens of Esila Taken Portal, or Spine of Keres Taken Portal. These portals will take you to different parts of the Confluence, and the Confluence itself can actually serve as a shortcut with these portals.
8 Tower Of Opened Eyes Secret Well
This secret was a little strange when players initially found it, as it looked to be a secret Blind Well, but didn’t do anything—at least nothing that players have been able to figure out. Accessing this strange area requires some platforming over instakill water.
Some fans believe it is part of a yet created raid, or perhaps the raid has been created and no player has managed to figure out how to activate the teleporter to reach it. In any case, it’s proof that even secrets have secrets in this deep game.
7 Ascendant Realm
Littered throughout the Dreaming City are portals leading to the Ascendant Realm. This is where players can face tough challenges which await in the hopes of obtaining powerful loot. The reason these portals scattered through the City are secret is that they’re invisible until you’ve consumed the Tincture of Queensfoil.
Consuming this item will reveal hidden platforms that you can puzzle through to find and enter the portals. Because the Tincture of Queensfoil is a limited time consumable, you’ll need to do some grinding for Baryon Boughs to purchase multiples to find all of the Ascendant Realm portals.
6 Divalian Mist Cavern
This is another secret that players have found but been unable to fully access or explore. Located in the Divalian Mists just after the arch in the temple entrance are a set of statues with hands in randomized positions.
Some curious players have discovered a cave exists behind these statues but have been unable to find a way to gain access to the cave. Some players believe that, as players complete Raids, the statues will change and something will activate that allows players to solve the puzzle and access this mysterious cave.
5 Hidden IO Area
This is perhaps the most recent discovery by the community and is likely an unused area meant for the upcoming DLC Shadowkeep. Near the Endless Gate, players who’ve done some extensive parkour, platforming, and glitching have found a way to access a massive cave system.
In this area are static placeholders representing enemies. This area is absolutely huge, and there’s a whole lot of nothing. There are no hints or clues as to what it might be for, but fans can’t wait to see what secrets are revealed when the DLC comes out.
4 Annex Drone Storage
This secret is probably the most well known on the list, but it deserves an entry here because of how little we know about it and how long it’s been a secret. This room found inside the Tower after completing the Floor is Lava challenge has been plaguing players for some time.
It was introduced during the Black Armory DLC and hasn’t been utilized since. It appears to be a storage area with orange drones that are meant to transport items to other parts of the Tower. Players routinely check it after each update or expansion, but it’s remained a mystery.
3 The Farm Secret Space
In The Farm social space, players have discovered an interesting little room that probably will never serve any practical purpose in any future update. To access it, simply go to the house with the water wheel and, on the porch, you’ll see one of the windows covered by a red cloth.
It turns out you can jump through this red cloth, go through the window and enter into a small empty room with no furniture or decorations. Some have argued it is meant to be a private space for people to socialize, but most fans think it was meant to be blocked off and developers decided to troll fans with it instead.
2 Volundr Forge Mysterious Box
This secret area was introduced in the Black Armory DLC and required players to gain access to the Volundr Forge. After finding the forge in Smidur’s Cavern, there’s a collapsed bridge that begins an arduous platforming puzzle.
After successfully navigating across the chasm, players will find a small cave that leads to a treasure inside, the Mysterious Box. This Box has four locks that are tied to the forges themselves and is a neat secret treasure for players to uncover.
1 Ana Bray Hangar Room
Another secret room found in Tower this one was obviously meant to be found as the developers included some intriguing items of lore. It’s found inside the hanger after navigating a series of vents. Inside is a conference room of sorts with the words Daito flashing across the screens and a journal belonging to Ana Bray.
Players are still puzzling out the significance of Daito and the journal, with some speculating it’s a nod to Arthurian legends that signify the Traveler is the holy grail. Perhaps it connects with another secret found in this massive game.
