Superheroes are a staple in our culture as people of all ages see these figures as hope for a better future. They may not exist in the real world, but it is an integral part of our imagination that searches for something to help us in times of need. We often associate these characters with others we are familiar with, like those we find within games created by Nintendo.

Many fans have turned Nintendo characters into famous superheroes based on their abilities or hero-like personalities. The result blows us away as we see creativity taking flight at its finest. Keep reading to learn about 10 Nintendo characters reimagined as superheroes!

10 10. Smashvengers Should Be A Movie

The Avengers are probably some of the best-known superheroes in the modern world as the movies break records every time a new film is released. This artist, liu-psypher, reimagined many of our favorite Nintendo characters as these avengers with popular faces like Mario as Captain America and Link as Thor.

It looks like it could be a real movie poster and we love how many heroes she managed to squeeze onto a single canvas. Fans are given a new way to see their Nintendo favorites the longer they stare at this work of art.

This is another truly epic movie poster that features Link as Thor and we can’t erase this image from our minds. He looks all-powerful as he swings his hammer in the air, and it is hard not to love the mixture of the two styles.

Link kept much of his original design in terms of clothing and features, but the artist amped him up a bit with a cape and new powers. Haley Hylia did a great job creating this piece as she managed to combine two worlds flawlessly together.

8 8. Pickachu Has An Alter Ego

This art piece shows the two sides of Pickachu as he turns from the adorable Pokémon we are all used to, into the hilarious Deadpool. We love the transition in his character from something sad and sweet, to a superhero with a laughable attitude.

Cristiano Reina did an excellent job bringing this superhero to life by transforming a timeless Nintendo character into something exciting and new. The use of the glass to separate the pair was a great touch and overall we are undeniably impressed.

7 7. Mario-Man And Sonic-Man Are At It Again

Here we see Mario reimagined as Superman and Sonic turned into the infamous Batman. It suits these characters perfectly as Mario is always out to save the day, while Sonic is constantly on the move.

The best part about this piece is how the artist, Brandon J. Santiago, kept their original art and managed to merge it with that of the superheroes. It looks like something we all want to see as this pair takes on crime together.

6 6. Gengar Is The New Spiderman

Gengar is a Pokémon species that resembles a shadow and is one of the scarier Pokémon in the Nintendo world. This artist decided he would make the perfect Spider-Man as this hero is constantly trying to blend in as he searches for the next criminal on his list.

We love the mashup of these two characters and we are glad the artist, named theCHAMBA, chose a more gruesome approach to this piece. The teeth and eyes work to set you on edge, while the splotchy state of his outfit turns us off even more.

5 5. Pikachu Has An Epic Face-Off

When this artist saw Captain America: Civil War, all they could think about was Pikachu playing both of the roles. Fans loved how adorable it made these two fearsome heroes as we see Pikachu’s face shining through.

The entire design is amazing as the swirling background brings the attention back to the two powerhouses at the center of the canvas. The way in which ShonenFox combines this Pokémon’s attributes with the various outfits blows us away.

4 4. Spider-Kirb Is On The Lookout

We love Spider-Man, but it is hard not to love Spider-Kirb even more. It is utterly adorable with all of its round edges and various abilities. The way the artist depicted Kirby in so many different scenarios pushes this to be one of our favorites as we ogle at its adorable nature.

The artist adds Kirby’s various abilities, as well as some that Spider-Man himself has into a single piece. The way the suit stretches over its body is hard to beat and ShadyBlazeBlizzard is the one we have to thank for this masterpiece.

3 3. Another Look At The Nintendo Avengers

We already saw one rendition of the Nintendo Avengers, but now we are granted a second look as they are in the middle of a major battle. The image is fuzzy, but it should be as no one would be able to grab a clear shot when so much action is taking place.

We love seeing different characters included like Wario as Thor and Princess Daisy as the Black Widow. The design by Jay-Phenrix makes it look like a screenshot from a current television show and it is one that fans would definitely watch.

2 2. Fi Could Be Iron Man

This is another movie poster done by HaleyHylia and it was too good to leave out of this list. We see Fi depicted as Iron Man, and she is a playable character from the Hyrule Warriors game.

She has a sword form in the game, but here we see her wielding the powers of the suit created by Tony Stark. The colors capture our interest as the artist did a great job of shading different areas to create a likeness that suited both characters.

1 1. Aquamon Is Here To Save The Day

Squirtle looks utterly adorable in his new threads as he becomes the Aquamon we didn’t know we needed. It is naturally a water-type Pokémon, so it makes sense that it would be the defender of the seas.

The serious look on its face combined with its superhero suit turns it into something fans would love to see. This looks like its next evolution as it transforms into the superhero of our dreams. Nacho Diaz Arjona did a great job on this piece and we hope he creates more mashups like this in the future.
