10 Metro Exodus (82)

While Metro Exodus was shown at several different major gaming events, many gamers found the title to be lackluster. The story centers around a group of survivors who are trying to evacuate what’s left of Moscow. Metro Exodus features an open-world design that allows players the freedom to explore the ruins of the shattered city. The game also incorporates survival elements along with first-person shooter action.

While the Metacritic score from reviewers is an 82, the user score only hits 6.7 out of ten. Many players complained of overly sensitive controls, frame-rate issues, and lifeless facial animations.

9 Anthem (65)

Anthem was heavily advertised to be a fun action RPG, similar to the Destiny series. This Sci-fi rich game promised players the chance to earn loot while unraveling the mysteries that surround them. 7 Blair Witch (69)

Good horror games can be hard to find, but a Blair Witch based title seemed like a great idea. The game requires you to escape the woods with your dog, Bullet. As the game progresses, the protagonist’s sanity decreases presenting several choices for players to make. The game was deeply inspired by the movie and carefully used the lore to craft a horrifying world.

6 Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint (62)

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is set on the fictional island of Auroa. A team of ghosts infiltrates this strange Utopia to uncover the islands dark secrets. Breakpoint features character customization and an open world full of quests, guns, and unique terrain.

Breakpoint was filled with bugs, like sound quality issues, that greatly impeded smooth gameplay. The game also requires players to always be online even when in single-player mode. These issues led the Metacritic score to only be 57, with the user score being 3.1 out of ten.

5 Jump Force (60)

Fans of Shonen Jump were ecstatic to learn that many of their favorite characters would once again be playable in a single game. Jump Force’s story was centered around the ideas of anime characters coming into the real world to fight evil. The game set-out to recreate realistic look heroes in an action-adventure setting that players would love.

Jump Force was a recipe for success that the developers really missed out on. With a limited roster of heroes to choose from and repetitive missions, the game just didn’t have the replay value many were hoping for. Jump Force has a Metacritic score of 61 with a user score of 4.6 out of 10.

4 Zanki Zero: Last Beginning (72)

Zanki Zero is a dungeon crawler made by the brains behind the acclaimed DanganRonpa series. The game was advertised as a post-apocalyptic storytelling experience with deep narrative and character development. The game has eight protagonists that wake up on a strange island and are forced to explore ruins in order to learn their past.

For the most part, the game flopped in sales, while the gameplay was a touch repetitive. The cast of characters also left much unimpressed, leading to a bland story. The game earned a 72 from reviewers while the Metacritic user score was 6.1 out of ten.

3 Dead or Alive 6 (76)

After the many success of the Dead or Alive franchise, fans were excited to get a new fighting game specially made for current-gen consoles. Dead or Alive 6 continued the story of the fighting tournament along with the ninja’s struggles against DOATEC. Dead or Alive 6 made several changes to its combat recipe while allowing players to still play as their favorite characters.

Sadly, Dead or Alive 6 fell flat with many games who found that game to be bland. The story mode is confusing at best and the game has less overall content than previous entries. The Metacritic score for Dead or Alive 6 is 76, with the user score as 5.6 out of 10.

2 Wolfenstein Youngblood (69)

In Wolfenstein: Youngblood, you play as Sofia or Jessie, the twin daughters of BJ Blazkowicz. The story follows the siblings as they travel to France to find the French Resistance. The game features a story that could be completed in any order, along with a co-op that would allow your friends to join you on the adventure.

Youngblood didn’t live up to the previous games in the series. Gamers complained that the combat, story, and character development all were lacking in depth, causing the game to be boring. The games Metacritic score is 69, with the user score coming to 2.2 out of ten.

1 Rage 2 (73)

Rage 2 was presented to the world with loud punk music and colorful but gory visuals. The game promised to be a carnage-filled post-apocalyptic paradise for players looking to wreak some havoc. Rage 2 also featured a plethora of weapons and vehicles for players to choose from while searching for the Authority.

Players complained that while Rage 2 wasn’t bad, it didn’t have much going for it either. Several gamers stated that the game suffered from dumb AI and boring gunplay. Rage 2 received a Metacritic score of 73 and a user score of 5.4 out of ten.
