Now and then, all factors lineup to create a spectacular video game. Fingers crossed, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order could be the game we’ve been hoping for all these years. A string of disappointments including the recently released Star Wars Battlefront II and Star Wars: Force Unleashed have led the Star Wars community to lose faith in developers.
Since there have been too many disappointments, and Electronic Arts has been listening to the comments of players, this could be the game we were waiting for. Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is an upcoming third-person action/melee game. Fans are eager to see what Respawn Entertainment has in store. There are at least 10 reasons to be excited for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
10 It’s Being Developed By Respawn Entertainment
Respawn Entertainment the same video game development company that brought Titanfall, Titanfall 2, and Apex Legends has shown that they know how to make first-person shooter games. This project is a gutsy move on Electronic Art’s part since Respawn Entertainment is new to the game and was founded in 2010. Unlike Star Wars Battlefront II, which was made by DICE, Fallen Order will be developed solely by Respawn Entertainment.
It’s possible that Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order will take inspiration from 1997’s Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II by implementing a combat system that involves first-person shooting and lightsaber battles. Since the game is categorized as a melee game, it is likely the game focuses more on lightsaber clashes.
9 It Takes Place In A Dark Time After Revenge Of The Sith
Don’t forget that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is a movie that takes place between the Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Events that took place in Rogue One like the capture of Galen Erso annihilation of the planet Scarif could appear in Fallen Order.
From Vince Zampella’s interview at E3 2018, we can take away that the story will take place in a “dark time.” So little is known about Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order but we should be providing new details in the near future.
8 Video Game Developer Stig Asmussen Is Working On The Project
Well-known video game developer Stig Asmussen, one of the central minds in the God of War series is bringing his talents to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. According to IGN, “Respawn halted development on another game to make Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.”
Just because it’s a Star Wars game doesn’t mean the Fallen Order will be a critic success. It takes a team of talented video game developers like Stig Asmussen and Vince Zampella to bring a quality game. Rest assured, we can be confident that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will live up to its hype.
7 This Game Won’t Get Cancelled
Now that the reveal trailer is out, and has received more than 7 million views on YouTube, it is likely that the game won’t get canceled. When it comes to Star Wars, cancellations are frequent.
Battle of the Sith Lords, Star Wars: Attack Squadrons, Star Wars 1313, Star Wars Battlefront 3, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 3, Star Wars: Dark Squadron, and a few others are among the Star Wars games that were canceled over the years. Now that interest is peaked, and Electronic Arts has announced a release date of November 15, 2019, it’s almost certain that Fallen Order won’t be canceled.
6 Melee Will Be A Large Focus Of The Game
Multiple reports are saying that the game will be melee intensive. If it’s going to be turn-based or real-time action is unknown at this point. Hopefully, they don’t mess up on the combat, or it will be the end of Electronic Arts’ fan base as we know it.
Players are desperate to see gameplay of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and we don’t fully understand what Respawn Entertainment means when they say it’s an action-melee game. As long as the game has an engaging story and likable characters, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order should be okay.
5 You Walk The Path Of A Jedi
Becoming a Jedi once again will make Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order more thrilling. We can only speculate which individual will be the protagonist’s Jedi Master. Since the protagonist Cal Kestis is a Padawan, it means that he will have to complete Jedi training to become a Jedi. We can assume he will complete his training in Fallen Order.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s reveal trailer was hidden behind flash frames that included a few combat scenes. Since we’ve already seen Star Wars video games fail a few times now, it should be easier for publisher Electronic Arts to chronicle the path of a Jedi, but make it interesting in their own way.
4 It Could Contain The Best Lightsaber Battles Yet
Electronic Arts, the publisher for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, is also the same company behind Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars Battlefront II. By now, Electronic Arts should have a good feel for what casual gamers and die-hard Star Wars are looking for. Superior combat is vital to the success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
If it’s more like Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Star Wars Battlefront II, and less like Star Wars: The Force Unleashed,Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order could accomplish what we’ve been hoping for all these years.
3 “Trust Only In The Force”- Cal Kestis
The game comes at a time when many of the most prominent Jedi are alive. Fallen Order’s living Jedi are the ones we fell in love with such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and Luke Skywalker. Whether Fallen Order’s protagonist Cal Kestis is going to follow the light or dark side is unknown at this point. Like other Jedi, Fallen Order’s protagonist might be conflicted by feelings of hate and compassion.
Cal Kestis says “trust no one” in the trailer, so it could mean that Cal Kestis trains himself. Jedi training is not easy, which is why someone like Yoda could appear in the game.
2 Darth Vader And Emperor Palpatine Will Probably Appear In The Game
Possibly the two darkest lords in Star Wars lore will appear in the upcoming Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine will have completed the first Death Star or will be in the process of building it in Fallen Order.
Fallen Order will be similar to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed—especially if they include both these characters. Fallen Order may be similar to Force Unleashed, but will have superior combat and less dull boss battles.
1 EA Wrote A Tweet Saying Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Won’t Have Microtransactions
Give a sigh of relief as EA has confirmed in a tweet that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order won’t have microtransactions. One of the top reasons why the community hates Star Wars Battlefront II is because of its microtransactions and difficult to unlock characters. In other words, pay $60 for a game and only get half of the content.
After an outpour of negative comments in the gaming community, EA decided to change the game so there wouldn’t be microtransactions and characters would be easier to unlock. Still, people seem to hate on the game and won’t return to play.
