After just short of a year, players finally got the chance the see what happened to Sora after finishing Kingdom Hearts 3 in the Kingdom Hearts 3: reMind DLC. Players were thrilled to get more background behind some of the elusive story points in Kingdom Hearts 3, particularly characters showing up out of nowhere in the final battle.

With wave after wave of boss fights, there was a lot to do and see in all the excitement. And, with all this excitement, it might have easy to neglect what the rest of the DLC had to offer. Here are 10 things people completely missed in Kingdom Hearts 3 reMind.

10 LIMIT CUT- DATA GREETING

Once finishing the game, players can unlock the limit cut addition. This is where two new modes are unlocked, one being the data greeting mode. Data greeting is a photo mode that allows players to set up characters, objects, and effects to construct a personal photo for the album.

The sky is the limit with this new addition to the menu. Set characters up in a battle or have them peacefully looking over the scenery, it’s all up to the player. Data greeting has a lot of potential for creativity. Have at it!

9 LIMIT CUT- DATA ANALYSIS

Limit cut also includes data analysis and this is where things get interesting. Data analysis allows Sora to go back and fight the seven darknesses, much like how he fought the organization in Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix after making his way through the cavern of remembrance.

Don’t expect these recreations of the seven darknesses to be as easy as they were in the final battle. The data versions require a lot of patience. Each boss is difficult in their own way, so players need to learn what moves are best for what boss.

8 FAMILIAR FACES, FAMILIAR SETTING

Looking for those Final Fantasy characters? They weren’t seen anywhere in the main game of reMind so where were they? Limit Cut. It’s possible people missed out on limit cut just from laziness or lack of interest but this is where the familiar faces of Cid, Leon, Aerith, and Yuffie can be found.

And where were they? Hollow Bastion. Another familiar place players didn’t get to explore in Kingdom Hearts 3. Not much to explore in reMind either, but it’s nice to see anyway. One wonders what these characters were doing the whole time.

7 RETURN OF OBLIVION AND OATHKEEPER

The 1.07 free update was released a day before reMind, however since it was supposed to be released with reMind, it still counts. This update gave players the chance to acquire both Oathkeeper and Oblivion Keyblades.

The catch is, they are difficult to obtain, especially for those who aren’t completionists which is why many might have missed out on this. Players needed to have gotten all of the 90 lucky emblems for Oathekeeper and completed the game on critical mode for Oblivion. It’s a mission for the most dedicated players to be sure.

6 ORCHESTRA BONUS FOOTAGE

Many fans of Kingdom Hearts are not only in it for the gameplay and story, but for the music as well. Yoko Shimomura is a legend in the video game world. Her music gets to the soul, making it easier to connect with the characters.

Just listen to any character’s theme and a surge of emotion is sure to follow. The orchestra footage is something every Shimomura fan should have. Getting the orchestra video was an extra ten dollars and if that seemed like too much then some missed out.

5 MENU UPDATE- EASILY CHANGE THE DIFFICULTY

Some may have felt that starting out with critical or even proud mode was a bit much to handle right away. Never fear, the premium menu is here. Exclusive to the remind DLC, players are able to switch difficulty modes after it is set at the start of the game and the fast pass and black code allow for a more customizable playthrough.

A nifty thing to have but also an elusive feature. People might have missed out on this as the actual reMind game was the top of most people’s list.

4 EXTRA ITEMS IN SCALA AD CAELUM

Maybe players were just too excited to proceed with the Kairi hunt that they didn’t allow themselves the time to explore Scala ad Caelum fully. It seems weird since this was what most people wanted but hey, finding Kairi is important.

Taking the time to find all the treatures and explore all of Scala ad Caelum might have been lost on those eager to finish the main game. The items to be found here are worth getting, so maybe taking the time to explore is worth the effort.

3 SECRET BOSS

Oh yes, there is a secret boss. Much like the final mix updates in Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, a secret boss lurks in the depths of reMind. You just have to beat the very difficult data bosses to get to him.

This might have proved too difficult for some casual players and so the extra hard secret boss was never reached. Sad, because unlike the previous secret bosses, this one hints at the future for the Kingdom Hearts story and Sora’s next journey.

2 THAT SECRET BOSS LOOKS FAMILIAR

So, who is the secret boss? At this point, most should know. After all, he was in the trailer. It’s nonother than Yozora and man is he a difficult fight. But doesn’t he look familiar? Hardcore Nomura fans might recognize this character as someone similar to the Final Fantasy Versus 13 Noctis.

There is a lot of speculation as to who this there is and whether or not he is at all related to Final Fantasy 15’s Noctis. Lots of theories are being thrown around adding to the abstract story. Hopefully, in the near future, this character’s motives will be revealed.

1 SECRET ENDING(S)

Surprise! There is more than one ending to the secret boss. Yozora is made to be that much more important of a character because his fight gets not one but two endings. But, if players weren’t able to beat him and just gave up they would have only experienced one ending.

If players couldn’t get to him at all then neither of these secret endings were seen. It should be emphasized that Yozora is not a typical secret boss. These endings mean something and players who didn’t get to this point might not be as excited as others.
