Sleep disorders affect approximately 50-70 million adults in the United States alone. Pokémon Sleep is doing something that nobody has ever done before by rewarding players for sleeping. We have yet to learn everything about Pokémon Sleep, but it’s looking like it will help people with sleep. The Pokémon Company’s vision to promote health while playing Pokémon is a worthy cause.

Pokémon Sleep is related to Pokémon GO since players will be able to train their GO Pokémon through the app. Just about everyone is freaking out over the announcement. Chances are you’ve heard about the new app, but don’t know much about it. These are ten things you didn’t know about Pokémon Sleep.

10 Easy Rewards For Sleeping

While Pokémon GO is a mobile game that encourages players to walk more, Pokémon Sleep urges players to get a long and healthy sleep. You may even go to bed on time or earlier, so you can play Pokémon Sleep. This game is unlike anything out there, and with The Pokémon Company behind the project, we can take comfort in knowing that a reputable company is looking after our sleep patterns. Just thinking of the game is enough to make you drowsy… err, Drowzee.

9 Train Pokémon In Your Sleep

Pokémon Sleep lets you train Pokémon in your sleep. Players of Pokémon GO who have logged tons of hours can now take comfort in knowing their hard work has paid off. It’s now time to get some needed shut-eye as the Pokémon Company intends.

The fact that Pokémon’s creators are looking after the health of their players makes us want to play their games even more. You’ll be able to train Pokémon while you sleep, but we still don’t know entirely what is meant by that.

8 Sleeping Becomes Entertainment

Sleeping becomes entertainment with the newly announced Pokémon Sleep. Essentially, the game is like Pokémon GO, except it is played during bedtime. Niantic and The Pokémon Company have done a tremendous job of making Pokémon an all-day event. Sleep will become more entertaining than it’s ever been before. We’ve seen sleep apps that play sleep noises to help you sleep, but Pokémon Sleep is revolutionary. It will bring entertainment to sleep, something we’ve never seen before.

7 The Game Comes With A Pokémon GO Plus Plus

Many players opted to buy the Pokémon GO Plus device that allows you to play Pokémon GO without looking at your cell phone. The intuitive device is a contributing reason for why Pokémon GO is so successful.

Along with Pokémon Sleep, there is a newly announced device called the “Pokémon GO Plus Plus,” which will track players’ sleep patterns. This device will be bundled with the game and it will pair with your cell phone via Bluetooth. In addition, the Pokémon GO Plus Plus will do everything that the Pokémon GO Plus already does.

6 There Are More Pokémon Than Snorlax In The Game

Pokémon GO players around the world were surprised to find Snorlax in a deep slumber back in May 2019. As part of the event, which marked the announcement of Pokémon Sleep, an abundance of Snorlax appeared throughout the game. Trainers could battle a disgruntled Snorlax in the wild, with the chance to catch one. Snorlax caught during the event would know the exclusive move Yawn. It was a rare occurrence, so hopefully, you were one of the lucky ones who snapped a picture.

5 It’s Being Developed By The Pokémon GO Developer

The game is being published by The Pokémon Company, but did you know that Pokémon Sleep will be developed in part by Niantic? Niantic is the same company that developed Pokémon GO, which was a groundbreaking app when it released way back in 2016. According to businessofapps.com, “May 2018 was the best month since the game’s launch, with 147 million monthly active Pokémon Go users worldwide.”

Niantic will have a smaller part in the development of Pokémon Sleep than Pokémon GO. Developer SELECT BUTTON, a developer known for creating Pokémon: Magikarp Jump, will be spearheading this innovative app.

4 Pokémon Sleep Will Connect With Pokémon Home

We don’t know if Pokémon Sleep will directly or indirectly link to Pokémon Home, a Pokémon storage solution also scheduled to release in 2020. We do know, however, that Pokémon Sleep will connect to Pokémon GO, and will act as a training app for your Pokémon. From this tidbit of information, we can conclude that Pokémon Home will connect with Pokémon Sleep. We will have to wait and find out how connected Pokémon Sleep will be with Pokémon Home.

3 Pikachu Is The Mascot

While others are rejoicing, other Pokémon trainers will be disappointed to learn that Pikachu is the mascot of the game. Snorlax, Jigglypuff, Hypno, Drowzee, or Eevee could have also been viable candidates.

The logo of the game has already been released, and Pikachu is the mascot of the game. Pikachu has been the leading mascot of Pokémon for quite some time. Pikachu appears in every major form of Pokémon media. As Ash’s first and foremost Pokémon, it’s no wonder why Pikachu is the mascot of Pokémon Sleep!

2 It “Brings A Gameplay Experience Unlike Any Other”

As of now, there are many details about Pokémon Sleep that have yet to be uncovered. Developers Niantic and SELECT BUTTON have had mostly sealed lips about their hot new app for mobile devices. We know a few details about Pokémon Sleep, but we can assume there is more to the game than what has been released thus far. According to a press release from The Pokémon Company, the new app “brings a gameplay experience unlike any other.” There’s no telling what this promising announcement might mean for Pokémon.

1 It’s Coming In 2020

Sooner than expected, Pokémon Sleep is almost ready for its release. It’s coming in 2020, and fans of Pokémon can rejoice now that this game is finally about to come out. It could be delayed, but looking at Pokémon games historically, their release dates are usually definitive. Pokémon is more than just a game series, and its other media has to coincide with game releases. We can confidently say that Pokémon Sleep will release sometime in 2020.
