100 Thieves have finally finished their massive esports compound. The Culver City-based team recently unveiled a 15,000 square-foot building packed to the rafters with gaming equipment of all kinds and might possibly be what gaming heaven looks like. With state-of-the-art equipment and specifically themed rooms for Fortnite, League of Legends and CS:GO, the new facility is nothing short of stunning.
In addition to the esports-centered rooms, the facility also houses a basketball court and arcade, not to mention training facilities for pro players to refine their tactics and prepare for upcoming events. With all that said, the facility will also feature a store that sells team merchandise once a new batch of product is ready for release.
100 Thieves Fornite player Jack “CouRage” Dunlop said of the facility: “From the stereotypes of having kids in their basements or how people are nerds to now seeing what [competitive gaming] has been building into and what it’s become, it’s an honor to take part in it. When everyone sees the big reveal today, they’ll really have their jaws drop.”
The “100 Thieves Cash App Compound” is the realization of over nine months and several million dollars of development. Aside from money, 100 Thieves revealed that the creation of the facility prevented them from competing in the high-stakes Call of Duty League set to debut this month due to the $25 million sign up fee. Knowing that they would be missing the League, CEO Matt Haag said back in August that joining the League was “a risk we can’t take right now.”
From the sounds of it, the facility is going to be a sight to behold for professional and casual gamers alike. Though no events are currently scheduled to be hosted in this massive building, one can only imagine what could be in store for such an advanced facility. If anything, esports may have found its Madison Square Garden, and members of 100 Thieves can pride themselves on having the slickest setup in all of gaming presumably for the rest of their lives.
