You know what more Disney villains need? Children. Boom, then you can get an element that automatically can make a story more complex. You know what children love? Disney. Children and Disney are like my cat and catnip. Yet in terms of characters, we don’t see very young children associate with villains.

Now I’m all into dark stories, so these could just be the thoughts of a mild weirdo, but wouldn’t it be cool to have children associate more with villains in Disney stories? We got very close with Tangled, where Rapunzel and Mother Gothel had this long history together which made Rapunzel’s behavior way more complex.

I think we’ve all met a parent who we thought was evil. A lot of the evil was probably shown by the way they treated the child. Or more interestingly, how they treated their child was their one redeeming factor. A kid can change everything. End a monster and you see it was just a mom protecting its young? That can change the entire story.

That’s not to say that there have not been Disney villain parents. Cinderella’s evil stepmother had two daughters of her own who she spoiled to bits. Pete, a recurring villain in Mickey Mouse shorts, has a son. We could even include Gothel, since she raised Rapunzel.

This isn’t that kind of list though. We are listing non-canon villains with kids.

20 Great Power With Great Responsibility

I actually know Maleficent more from the Kingdom Hearts series than her actual movie and lore. She is one of those characters that are the incarnation of pure evil, and thus should probably have no redeeming qualities. Also she’s an evil fairy, and that automatically makes her very cool to me.

That baby is apparently great at climbing.

When you are so powerful though, you can probably have whatever you want. If Maleficent wants a baby, she probably doesn’t even need a man. She probably made this timid little baby out of pure magic. Would this baby grow up to be as evil as their mom? It’s hard to believe when they look so innocent! I wonder if the baby can turn into a baby dragon.

19 The Timid Shall Inherit The Earth

Out of a lot of Disney villains, Bellwether actually makes the most sense to me. We see her in the Zootopia background as this timid little sheep working in a world where the big jobs for leadership go to the predators. She even is a cheerleader for the main protagonist since they are both in the same position as animals that were on the bottom of the food chain and are often stereotyped.

So she’s already a complex villain from the get-go.

Having a kid would make even more sense. What if her child has dreams of getting into sports, being a police chief, or getting into politics? That could form a base for her entire scheme to make the predators lose their minds and get everyone to be afraid of them.

18 Daddy’s Little Monster

This may be the number one villain to make me laugh, and who doesn’t want that in a father? Hades is even my own dad’s favorite Disney villain. Hades could be the king of dad jokes, if he got into that.

I have to ask, who would the mom be? Maybe Persephone!

Honestly though, being a god might mean you don’t need a uterus to make a baby. It’s the same situation as Maleficent; it could all just be accomplished through power alone. Though I have to say, that baby looks oddly like Ursula. Hades has fire hair, is his kid’s made out of mist? I bet she is that sort of kid who bites. Look at those shark teeth! I bet she would be chaotic neutral.

17 Son Of The Church

I hate Frollo, and that probably means he’s a successful villain. He’s the sort of villain we know and fear from real life where he’s so devoted to his religion that he is willing to hurt others in its name.

What would be scary about him having a son would be that nine times out of ten, people like Frollo will raise their child to have the same beliefs that made him a villain in the first place.

Though this could be a redeemed version of Frollo? He could have chosen love and “sin” over purity and devotion to his God. There’s another chance that this baby is not biologically attached to Frollo, and is another child of one of his gypsy victims. Since the baby doesn’t have a deformity, Frollo decides to raise him without trapping in a cathedral.

16 Family On The Other Side

I’m still waiting for a solid LGBTQA couple from Disney, as are many fans. Though I think I’d prefer LGBTQA heroes rather than villains since the gay community is often portrayed as villainous throughout Hollywood history. Each day is a step closer to that dream though!

Dr. Facilier doesn’t just have friends on the other side! He has a family!

This is a believable crossover since Dr. Facilier is a master of Voodoo. I love how his shadow can move independently. If this baby is magically biological for both Hades and Dr. Facilier, then they will have awesome powers. Though would they be raised in the Underworld or in New Orleans? I would vote for the Underworld because they’d probably get bullied for being different on earth. Hades will be great at homeschooling.

15 Mother Of All Villains

The Evil Queen from Snow White can be called the mother of all villains because she dates back to the 1930s as Disney’s first most recognizable villain (move out the way Pete from Steamboat Willie!). Both the Evil Queen and Maleficent just pulse power when you see them walk into a room.

In this fanart, she is the literal mother of all villains with the villains we know all as babies.

I know this art wasn’t meant to be taken literally, but one of these babies is a lion. The Evil Queen would be a hero in my book if she could raise the God of the Underworld, a lion, an octopus witch, an evil fairy, and the three others would just be little brats who’d want everything to go their way.

14  The Cruel One’s Pup

Cruella having a baby could make for some good dark satire. Knowing Cruella’s personality, she would be obsessed with dressing her baby up to the point you could even wonder if she actually cares about the actual baby.

She’d dress that baby in slow loris fur (slow loris are endangered!).

She would drag this poor child to model agencies with a little turtle shell helmet and weasel scarfs. That baby wouldn’t know anything and would just be a passive object for Cruella’s shallow nature.

I know the baby is wearing a normal jumper in this fanart but maybe Cruella isn’t paying attention and that’s the only time she treats her baby like a baby. I won’t believe that this baby would dress in a normal jumper on a normal day.

13 No Laughing Matter

Shenzi is the girl and probably most intelligent of the three hyenas in The Lion King. I kid, because we all know Ed is a savant who is hiding something.

I know hyena pups have been explored in The Lion King show, The Lion Guard. I managed to watch one episode of that show before I cracked into pained and awkward laughter and turned off the television.

It is kind of sad to think about Shenzi having a pup since she and most of the hyenas live in the lands with the least food. In a weird way, it’s easy to sympathize with why the hyenas side with Scar since he promises them that they’ll never go hungry again. Scar sort of takes advantage of the oppression the hyenas go through.

12 Ron Is Not So Stoppable

All these expressions are telling a story. I guess Ron got with both Kim and Shego? Somehow it took eight months for Kim to figure that out and get mad? Shego doesn’t seem to care at all.

I have so many questions.

I see candles. Were Shego and Ron having a romantic evening? There is that deep quote, “The sun also shines on the wicked.” Is Ron the sun? I ship Shego and Kim so maybe they can both kick Ron out and raise their babies together. Those kids would have the coolest moms.

Shego is dressed so nicely and Kim is dressed like she came from a trailer park. What’s up with that? Where is Wade in all of this? He’s probably screaming behind a computer somewhere, much like I do every day.

11 The Captain’s Treasures

Peter Pan’s Captain Hook is a fun villain, so I think he could be a fun dad. Though from this image, the girls don’t seem too happy with their sea-dwelling lives. It’s probably depressing to be stuck on a ship with a bunch of adults who fight flying children. Those kids want to join those flying children! They’d want to hang out with the fairies, mermaids, and natives!

I bet they secretly help Peter and the lost boys a lot.

I also bet they are braver than Hook and sometimes help their father when he is in a crisis (that may or may not do with a crocodile). Man, pirate girls are great. Disney needs more pirate girls!

Despite helping Peter a lot, I’m sure they still love their dad and vice versa.

10 Family Portrait

I actually have not seen the entirety of The Great Mouse Detective. I think it was because I preferred animals acting more like animals than people like in 101 Dalmatians, The Lion King, and Oliver and Company.

His kids seem happy. He probably spoils them to bits to keep them under his control.

I did however watch Nostalgia Critic’s review of The Great Mouse Detective, so I do know that Professor Ratigan is an awesome villain. His voice actor is great, and his polite personality is just a thin veil to cover his real aggressive and villainous nature. I remember in the final fight, I was like, “That’s not a rat! That’s some deformed cat!” because of how fearsome his character became by the end of the movie.

9 Another Heir

No, Scar did not just have the greatest antelope meal of his life. He is pregnant in this fanart. How did he get a uterus? Well, nature is a strange mistress. No, actually whoever drew this is strange to me, but I will play along.

I never have seen Scar look as happy and relaxed as he does in this photo.

He has a lot of pride, so he’s probably happy about having a mini him running around soon. Though from his behavior in The Lion King, I don’t think he’s a big fan of kids. He seems to be the impatient and easily annoyed kind of guy.

There are theories that Kovu from The Lion King II is the son of Scar. They do bear a striking resemblance to each other and it is said that Scar picked Kovu to be his heir.

8 Family Drama

Now I know some Japanese, but definitely am not good enough at reading kanji to help you all with his one. I love the anime style and expressions though!

You know what’s better than hook having children? Hook having antsy teenagers.

Teenagers back better evil characters than children anyway. Unlike the young girls before, these two could have no interest in Peter Pan. They will be much louder about what they think is wrong though.

Also how did the son lose his hand? The sea is so cold and cruel. I know Hook lost his to the crocodile. Is this a repeat incident? Would the son have crocodile issues like his father?

I bet the teenagers pick on Smee all the time since the guy is a big pushover. I bet they also put their father in his place at times.

7 Unlikely Couple

Unlikely is an understatement when we got a literal witch and Frollo together. Frollo would probably seek this woman’s end rather than start a family. But this could be a Frollo that got over the whole extremism church thing and decided to settle down. Mother Gothel does have a striking resemblance to Esmerelda and we know that Frollo was physically attracted to Esmerelda.

So it could make sense that Frollo would get with Gothel, but I can’t see Gothel settling for an older man of the church. She’s probably just using him for babies as a part of some witchy plot.

Tangled would get overly complicated if Mother Gothel had biological children into the mix. I also think Mother Gothel is a woman who doesn’t need or have interest in a man.

6 If Love Was An Open Door

If you think about it, this fanart could easily have become reality if Hans never blew his cover, and switched tactics. He’s the one who decided to reveal himself as a villain; no one else was smart or wise enough to know that he was evil. He just was like, “I guess this is the time for me to stop pretending I love you, and reveal my love for your …sister?”

If he never revealed himself, he may have actually gotten to be king, especially if he had gone for Elsa.

There is endless talk of Hans’ behavior but I don’t think we talk about how close he could have gotten away with his act and achieve the power he was after. I bet he gave a lot of little girls some trust issues.

5 Crib Shopping

Jafar and pregnant Meg huh? I actually don’t know how to feel about that. Jafar isn’t a brute; he’s what I call a “throne shadow,” a character that is steadily trying to snake their way to ruler-ship without getting caught. Meg is very smart and blunt though, so she would not let him get anyway with any of his typical tricks.

But then we get into that whole toxic romance genre trope of “Oh, she can change him!” and that doesn’t translate well into real life at all.

Also Jafar is like the opposite of Hercules. I think Meg is better off with Hercules. Jafar needs someone more like…Mother Gothel. They both practice magic! Or maybe someone like Maleficent. You can see I am more for shipping villains with other villains.

4 New Goddess

Now this pairing is interesting, because it’s based on real Greek mythos! Hades and Persephone are indeed together in real Greek mythology, so it’s a cool idea to translate that into the Disney movie. Persephone is the queen of the Underworld, and she goes back and forth out and to the Underworld, and that explains seasons. It’s a long story; I won’t get too into it!

I do feel disappointed in the Disney movie for making Hades the villain.

Since he’s the king of the Underworld, we translate it to Christian mythos about the Devil so we assigned that to be an evil character. The real Hades of Greek myth is not known to be a bad guy. He can be ferocious, but also fair. Zeus in fact is arguably more of a villain than Hades in the real myths.

3 New World, New Baby

There are like no redeemable traits for Governor Ratcliffe, so you know what? He needs a baby. He needs a more relatable reason for his greed. The pug doesn’t count! The pug is a jerk, so it may also need a pup to be redeemed in my eyes.

Though I think their ship had no women or children for a season. Maybe this baby was found and the Governor and Wiggins decided to adopt them.

God, Wiggins is such an unfortunate name. I’m going to pretend that’s a nickname these gold digging monsters gave their weakest link. I swear Wiggins was just there to spoil the Governor’s pug and to be concerned about everything. Wiggins would make a good dad though, but he needs a better partner than Ratcliffe.

2 Baby Down Under

Percival C. McLeach from The Rescuers Down Under is one of my favorite villains of all time. This Australian poacher was so into his role and was so overdone that his face, lizard pet, and accent got ironed into my mind since I was a child. If you haven’t seen this villain in action, you got to!

He looks so unhappy and so uncomfortable about Frollo touching him and being pregnant. You know what Percival? Me too!

Why are we shipping Frollo with everyone? Sure, maybe he’s in the closest, came out of the closest, time travelled, and found a man with a uterus and fell in love! Sure! I think Percival would be happier without a uterus (judging my his expression) and would prefer a partner who would like, I don’t know…hunting, hiking, having muscles and a get-’er-done attitude?

1 Chaos Baby

So this will be the strangest one by far, seeing as Pleakley is one of the alien invaders in Disney’s Lilo and Stitch. Not that we assume that aliens can’t have kids, nothing could be further from the truth!

Is Pleakley having this baby with Jamba, the mad scientist?

Maybe they decided Earth was a great place for them to finally be together. Who knows? Maybe Pleakley wore Jamba down with his talk of mosquito research and protection. Maybe they know spearhead a new movement, and their baby will be born into a world with a lot more mosquitoes than we need.
