Have you ever wonder what it would be like for your favorite cartoon characters to grow up alongside you? Well, we have been very grateful for the amazing fan art that has given us an image of what they would look like when they are older! Because of the amazing artwork, it makes us feel like the cartoon characters we loved as kids grew up with us. While some cartoon characters have aged, they canonically never do (looking at you a certain ten-year-old boy). When it comes to the fan art that portrays them as grown-ups, some of the drawings are surprisingly realistic. From adolescence to adulthood, it makes sense to move on from childish looking art to adultlike art. Whenever puberty hits, it can change them drastically.
Lots of shows like to give us an idea of what could happen if the cartoon characters grow up either to be older or as adults, sometimes we want them to stay the same age forever because we love them for who they are now. If they happen to stay in their adult bodies, what would they be doing? Would they still fight crime, or grow up to be successful in their careers and eventually start families? A lot of questions fill our minds whenever we see them older. While having them as their respective ages will always be in our hearts, it is still fun to fantasize. 25 Pokémon Master Yet?
So how long will Ash stay as a ten-year-old boy? Probably forever for as long as Pokémon still remains on air all over the world. However, it is still fun to imagine what Ash and the gang would look like if they turn into adults. If Ash were to age in the real world, he would technically be thirty years old, if you take Ash’s age and subtract it from 1997, when the show first debuted. Even after twenty years, he will never age, but will certainly travel all around the Pokémon world before ever turning eleven. Whether the show will finally make him age or not, he will always be one of the characters we would cheer for whenever he enters a Pokémon battle.
24 Stronger Than Ever
Steven Universe has an amazing concept that sends us a message to accept love from no matter which gender, and it does it very, very well! While this amazing art only shows Steven and Connie as grown-ups, we like to think that the Crystal Gems will always stay at Steven’s side, no matter what. We hope that Steven and Connie will end up together as they grow into fine adults, but we still love them as their young and lively selves! If there is anything Cartoon Network has done right for the past few years, it would without a doubt be green-lighting this amazing and arguably perfect show. Steven and the Crystal Gems may have to face off their enemies still, but they still rock.
23 Land Of Ooo At Peace?
Adventure Time is a peculiar cartoon, but still very successful despite the tenth season being its last. Seeing Finn and Jake go on their adventures and helping Princess Bubblegum is something we never get tired of. Although, we cannot help but wonder how they would be once they have fully grown. Maybe Princess Bubblegum will finally become queen, and Finn may end up with her, either as her knight, or rule alongside her, unless Marceline the Vampire Queen takes that position instead. While it is sad that the cartoon will end, maybe the series finale might showcase their future and give us an idea of what the world of Ooo will be like then. If there is one thing to acknowledge, the fans definitely have grown alongside with these characters.
22 What’s The Sitch Now?
Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable may have graduated high school in the series finale, but it is still fun to figure out what they would do once they reached into adulthood. Will they get married and have adorable kids? Will they still keep thwarting Dr. Drakken and Shego’s plans for world domination? Maybe even stop Monkey Fist or Duff Killigan’s silly plans before they could get so crazy? So many questions make us wonder what the sitch is right now. Perhaps she would work for the FBI. Just how awesome would that be for an amazing girl like her to do that? No matter her age, can do anything. Kim Possible will always be the best crimefighting cheerleader we look up to on Disney Channel.
21 Sweet Reunion
The ending to the first Monsters Inc. movie definitely made us cry. When we saw Sully’s expression from meeting Boo again after having the door to her bedroom destroyed, it was not only shocking, but a bittersweet way to end the movie. That said, if Pixar were to do another movie around it, minus the prequel, we wondered if Boo were to grow up, will she still remember Mike and Sully? She will have to realize that Sully’s name is not Kitty, but from time to time, she would definitely still use that name to be affectionate. While having them in her world would be dangerous, going back to the world of Monsters Inc. would not only bring back her memories, but ours as well.
20 Never Lost
Similar to Monsters Inc., we would love to see how Lilo would grow up as an adult. Perhaps she will be a replica of her sister Nani, but with her notable eccentric attitude. She may become a professional surfer along the way. However, what is absolutely needed for her growing up is her beloved companion Stitch. No matter what age, family should never be left behind, and that is what Stitch helped in regarding Lilo and Nani’s family situation. Nani definitely helped with raising her younger sister. While he may act like a normal pet dog, Stitch ages much slower than one, thankfully. Let us hope that grown-up Lilo and Stitch will always be inseparable and always be the amazing duo we know and love.
19 Civilians By Day, Senshis By Night
Fighting evil by moonlight and winning love by daylight is something Sailor Moon and her girls (plus Tuxedo Mask) will always be remembered for. While we technically know that Sailor Moon/Usagi will eventually be reincarnated to become Neo-Queen Serenity, we still like to think of what she will do in adulthood, other than marrying her beloved Mamoru and having Chibi-Usa as her daughter. We know that she wants to be a bride, but what else would be in store for this iconic anime character? Would she become a housewife raising her daughter, or maybe help Makoto run her future flower shop and bakery? While her next life definitely is a given, living in modern Tokyo has a lot of possibilities for this pretty Sailor Guardian.
18 Probably Still Crude As Ever
Arguably one of the most controversial, but smart cartoons we have ever seen, South Park’s main four kids always graced us with great social commentary and hilarious comedy. With that said, when they grow up to become adults, how would their future be? Will Kenny die and come back as always? Will Stan and Wendy get together to become an ironic but nice couple? Or will Kyle and Cartman always butt heads with each other? But most importantly, will Tweek and Craig still be the ultimate power couple? Anything can happen in the world of South Park, and not only the gang growing up would it be an interesting idea to look into, but see how they have matured while still giving us clever humor.
17 What Are We Going To Do Today?
Phineas and Ferb had crazy ideas to make the best summer ever, be we love them for it! For them to grow up, however, they would have to sacrifice their days off from school for work, unless they became teachers at a school. Phineas and Isabella are totally canon, but it is also interesting to see if Ferb and Vanessa end up getting together. Candace and Jeremy are also definitely going to end up together as well. When it comes to the most memorable part of the show, Perry the Platypus and Dr. Doofenshmirtz, they might set aside their differences and get along better, even though they did do that from time to time. Perhaps some of them will stay in the Tristate Area for as long as they live.
16 Hillwood’s Awesome Kids
Who else still loves this gang of memorable characters? Hey Arnold! is simple, but memorable show that has Arnold help solve problems with his friends regarding any relatable situation. Let us not forget how much Helga loves to hate on Arnold, but secretly has feelings for him. Because of that, it would be an amazing idea to have her and Arnold together once they grow up into adults. As for the others, Gerald and Phoebe also should stay as the couple, given the ending of the recent movie Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie. It would not be a surprise if fans drew their own conclusions once the movie aired of what would have happened once they have finally grown up. Well, anything can definitely happen.
15 The Modern Isaac Newton
With Jimmy Neutron’s big brain, his future would definitely have to do with the field of science. Heck, with his level of genius, he could have gotten a Doctorate’s Degree faster while some of his friends are still in the middle of college. That is how smart he is! Other than Jimmy, Carl might end up raising a farm full of llamas while Sheen could work for the company that brought his favorite character, Ultra Lord to the small screen. Cindy and Libby would definitely be with their boys Jimmy and Sheen respectively. Let us not forget Jimmy’s trusted companion, Goddard. Since he was manmade, he does not have to worry about living a normal dog’s life. The future for these characters seemed really bright.
14 Still Trying To Get Jawbreakers?
These boys with the same name will always be one of Cartoon Network’s greatest characters. We loved seeing the kids from the cul-de-sac witness how they spend their summer until they eventually came back to school. As for their futures, it is debatable, but fun to speculate. Double D would definitely become a scientist, while Ed and Eddy are questionable. Ed could possibly become a comic book writer due to his love for comics, while Eddy may become a loan shark, due to his love for money. As for the others, Rolf would still raise his farm animals while Nazz could become an actress if she wanted to. When it comes to shipping characters, a lot of people like to pair up the Eds and the Kanker sisters together, so it can become a possibility for them to get together.
13 Unbreakable Friendship
Sector V from Codename: Kids Next Door are the agents we would love to be when we were kids. While in the series finale we have seen them grown up with Numbuh 5 still being her sassy self who is married to Numbah 2, Numbuhs 3 and 4 are also married (can you say heck yeah?!), and Numbuh 1 came back from his service for the Galactic KND. Despite still acting as cover agents, even as they grew older, knowing what they did in their adult life has brought many questions and is something we would have loved to see throughout the show. Unlike the other entries, we knew what Sector V did as they got older, but it is what we have not seen.
12 Still Visiting?
This Disney XD cartoon was one of the most thought-provoking and captivating shows ever created. We enjoyed watching the twins go to Gravity Falls to visit their Gruncle Stan. When the show ended after its second season, we wondered what kind of adventures Mabel and Dipper would go on. They might have saved the world, but we could not help but think of what the twins could do after that. When it comes to growing up, Mabel has stated she wants an epic summer romance and become the president of the United States. Mabel for president? She has certainly gotten a vote! Dipper would still want to discover the mysteries of Gravity Falls, and we would certainly love to support him for doing something awesome.
11 Can They Get Together Now?
This French CGI animated cartoon captivated us with its Sailor Moon inspired transformations, but original and likable characters. If there is anything that is obvious to point out, that would be Marinette and Adrien finally being together! The fact that they work so well together in protecting their city shows how great their chemistry is. We know how much Marinette wants to be a fashion designer and that Adrien is a model, they can form an ultimate duo in the fashion world too. There have been a lot of fanart of the two of them grown up, especially the adorable ladybug herself, so thinking of how their future could work not only makes us squeal in happiness but with a season two, anything can happen!
10 Beautiful And Kicking Butt At The Same Time
A lot of people wondered what it would be like for the three perfect little girls to grow into gorgeous and powerful women. They would probably still fight crime to save Townsville and stop Mojo Jojo, The Gangreen Gang, Him, and others. Maybe they might also get together with the Rowdyruff Boys if they happen to be on good terms as they get older. They also seem to be well developed physically, as well as have their awesome strength while looking fierce and confident. Even though we love them as kindergartners, Chemical X is not likely to keep them the same age forever. No matter what though, we will always remember Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup for kicking major butt and always saving their beloved home.
9 Got A Doctorate’s Degree, Yet?
This redheaded genius with a Russian accent really knows how to create interesting experiments while having his annoying older sister DeeDee and rival Mandark in his way. When it comes to growing up though, maybe the three of them can finally get along? Well, Mandark and DeeDee kissed so they are fine, but it mostly has to do with Dexter. Like Jimmy Neutron, Dexter and Mandark would definitely get college degrees much faster than an average student and would without a doubt study science as their major. It is possible that Mandark and DeeDee could end up together, so shippers, keep on hoping. Speaking of DeeDee, she might still do what she loved, and that would be professional ballet. Either way, these three surely have nice futures ahead of them.
8 Together Forever
When Ponyo’s mother asked Sosuke to love and watch over her daughter, he knew that he made the right choice despite being so young. Ponyo and Sosuke at first can have a brother-sister relationship, but eventually, as they get older, can officially be together. With this movie being inspired by The Little Mermaid, it is possible that these two are made for each other. Even though she longed to be with Sosuke and enjoy as much ham as she could, seeing her father is something she would definitely do. Sosuke will probably help his father at sea whenever he travels, just as long as his mother is okay with it. These two will always be loyal and have fun for as long as they live.
7 Will They Meet Again?
Easily Hayao Miyazaki’s best-known film all over the world, Spirited Away is more likely our introduction to anime as well as the most beautiful film when it comes to the art style and animation. This gorgeously done artwork gives us not only the feels trip but makes us wonder how Chihiro and Haku will reunite if they were to do so. Seeing these two together onscreen was a fun adventure to go through and maybe, just maybe, they can see each other again really soon. We cannot help but wonder how the reunion will turn up like. Judging by this amazing fanart, they seem to be adults now and longed for the day to see each other, and by the look on their faces, they are certainly more than happy.
6 How Long Has Their Deal Lasted?
Judging by this amazing artwork, it turns out that Billy and Mandy managed to extend their contract with Grim. After all, they are still best friends forever, much to the grim reaper’s dismay. It is possible they will still go on dangerous, but fun adventures, just as long as they do not go to court again if you catch the reference. Mandy had a lot of futures shown in the cartoon series, such as being president of the United States, and even ruler of the world! As for Billy, he would probably still hold onto the hope of being a superhero, albeit a dumb one. In the end, Grim will have to move on from Billy and Mandy, but without a doubt will still remember Billy and Mandy for as long as he lives on.
