Twitch can be a fickle business, as not only are the company’s terms of service sometimes enforced inconsistently, but people put their lives online for the world to see. What this inevitably means is that mistakes will be made, which can be equal parts hilarious, equal parts awkward, and sometimes make everyone who sees it facepalm. Livestream fails are typically innocuous, but there are some that define a Twitch streamer’s rise to prominence.

Whether it is a career-defining slip-up or a simple facepalm moment, there are a ton of live stream fails all the time. So, here are 5 Twitch incidents that likely made every single viewer put their palms to their foreheads as soon as it happened.

Dr Disrespect’s E3 Bathroom Fiasco

Dr Disrespect is more known for playing shooters on Twitch than anything else, but he did host an IRL stream at E3 2019 this year. However, it seems to have been a bad decision on his part, as he ended up filming inside a bathroom. Not only is this a clear violation of Twitch’s terms of service, it’s potentially illegal. This resulted in Dr. Disrespect getting banned, and many likely facepalmed as soon as he entered the bathroom, camera in tow. At the time, many were curious as to how Dr Disrespect would react to the incident, given the super bravado of his streaming alter ego, but he actually broke character, apologizing for the E3 bathroom incident as Guy Beahm (his real name).

Laboratory424’s Art Board

Laboratory424’s name is not as big as Dr Disrespect, but that doesn’t make him impervious to facepalming moments. As his name suggests, Laboratory 424 is a science and tech Twitch streamer who had an admittedly fun idea to allow his chat to put designs up on an artboard during one of his streams. This could be used for a variety of useful reasons, but instead of exploring those possibilities, one chatter decided to throw up images of Pepe the Frog and a drawing of a male appendage. Laboratory424 may have facepalmed himself after the incident, as his quickly scrambled to shut the art board down, but luckily, he faced no serious repercussions as a result. The chatter who abused the art board did, however, get banned for it.

Kandyland’s Microwave Incident

Perhaps the most innocuous incident on this list came as a result of a microwave, a stream cut too soon, and a simple mistake. Twitch streamer Kandyland was experiencing some power issues and was showing this to her chat when she decided to try and use the microwave. The appliance then took too much power, effectively shutting down her stream and causing fans to likely chuckle and facepalm. It was only down for a few minutes, but Kandyland was somewhat embarrassed upon her return, resulting in a simple yet laughable livestream fail for the user.

Amouranth’s Wardrobe Mishap

Some livestream fails come to bolster a career, to rocket someone into the limelight, and for Twitch streamer Amouranth, that moment was a simple wardrobe mishap. During a stream in which she was playing with her dog, Amouranth accidentally flashed her audience as a result of having no underwear on. She was temporarily banned, but came back bigger than ever with 300,000+ new followers (due to the fact that many felt her ban was unjust). Later on, she lost many of these follows, leading some to believe it was bots, but she still gained quite a few followers from this facepalm moment.

hellbringer13225’s Tinder Account

During a livestream of League of Legends, Twitch streamer hellbringer13225 was confronted by his significant other (either a girlfriend or a wife) about having a Tinder profile. She can be heard yelling about this very fact, to which hellbringer13225’s response is complete denial. It’s unsure if this moment was manufactured drama to boost viewers or legitimate trouble in the relationship, but assuming it is the latter, this goes to show one of the many dangers of putting life online.
