Out of all the Dragon Ball games released in the past five years, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and Dragon Ball: Kakarot were two that immediately got the Dragon Ball community talking before they hit the shelves. Xenoverse 2 promised to improve upon the formula that made Xenoverse such a hit, while Dragon Ball: Kakarot gave fans an experience that they haven’t gotten since the Game Boy Advance’s Legacy of Goku franchise, allowing players to take control of Goku and his friends in RPG-style gameplay that stresses fighting alongside exploration.

It’s only a matter of time before another Dragon Ball game is released. The question is, what kind of game would fans want the most? A sequel to Dragon Ball: Kakarot or a third entry in the Xenoverse franchise?

10 Kakarot 2: Players Will Be Able To Experience Dragon Ball Super In An RPG-Format

Since Dragon Ball: Kakarot covered the events of Dragon Ball Z, from the arrival of Raditz to the defeat of Kid Buu, fans can only expect a sequel to cover the events of Dragon Ball Super, from Beerus’s appearance to Broly’s introduction, or even Moro’s inevitable defeat.

Dragon Ball Super’s story hasn’t really be touched by many games, so Dragon Ball: Kakarot 2 would give fans the opportunity to experience some of their favorite moments and battles from the show in a way that feels completely fresh.

9 Xenoverse 3: More Customization Options

From Xenoverse to Xenoverse 2, character customization options increased drastically. Players not only gained access to new hairstyles for their characters, but they also got several new special attacks, outfits, and even transformations!

It’s only natural that Xenoverse 3 would expand upon what already exists in Xenoverse 2 to give fans even more!

8 Kakarot 2: Seeing Iconic Dragon Ball Super Moments As Cutscenes

Dragon Ball: Kakarot did disappoint some fans with its cutscenes, or rather, the ones that it left out. Many expressed their outrage after realizing that Vegeta’s first Final Flash wasn’t featured at all. Still, many of the other cutscenes featured throughout the story are spectacular. From seeing Goku take out Recoome before he had the chance to pull off his Ultra Fighting Bomber to seeing Vegito give Super Buu a beating we’ll never forget, Dragon Ball: Kakarot pulled out all the stops on some truly iconic Dragon Ball Z moments.

If it does follow the story of Dragon Ball Super, fans can rest assured that Dragon Ball: Kakarot 2 will feature high-quality cutscenes that depict the events of the anime in a whole new light. How awesome would it be to see a cutscene of Goku fighting Jiren at the Tournament of Power? Or even a cutscene of Vegeta pummeling Frieza into the dirt? Even seeing a cutscene of Trunks unlocking his Super Saiyan Rage transformation would be enough to take anyone’s breath away.

Since these scenes haven’t been animated across multiple games, the developers would have more liberty to add their own unique spin to these scenes.

7 Xenoverse 3: The Development Team Has Had More Time To Listen To Fans

Xenoverse 2 was released in October 2016, meaning that the game has been out for three years now. Over the course of those years, fans have had more than enough time to voice their current grievances with the game as it is now.

From issues as diverse as a need for better transformations to the poor netcode that often ruins the multiplayer experience, players have held nothing back in sharing their opinions with Bandai Namco. Developers have definitely been listening, and fans can be sure that their concerns will be addressed in Xenoverse 3, making the Xenoverse experience a lot more fun than it already was.

6 Kakarot 2: Potential To Travel To More Locations

Dragon Ball Super expanded the boundaries of the Dragon Ball universe in a major way by introducing multiple universes. Due to Kakarot’s emphasis on exploring and gathering unique and rare items across Earth, the Sacred World of the Kais, and Namek, there’s a strong possibility that Dragon Ball: Kakarot 2 would allow players to travel to other planets featured in Dragon Ball Super, like Planet Yardrat, Beerus’s Planet, and maybe even Planet Vampa.

The process of gathering unique items (or even the Super Dragon Balls) would suddenly become a lot less dull and a lot more challenging, since players would truly have to search far and wide to find specific items all over the universe.

5 Xenoverse 3: The Xenoverse 2 DLC Content Will Most Likely Be Included

From Xenoverse to Xenoverse 2, much of the DLC content from the first game automatically came with the second. For example, fighters like Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta, Pan, GT Goku, and Mira were already included as playable characters in Xenoverse 2. In Xenoverse however, they were locked behind a paywall.

With 10 DLC packs being released for Xenoverse 2 since its release, with the most recent being towards the end of 2019, fans can rest assured that most, if not all of this extra content will be included in Xenoverse 3 for no extra charge. This means that players will have access to such an expansive roster from the get-go, and won’t have to spend a single extra penny for it.

4 Kakarot 2: Fighting In A 3-D Tournament Of Power Arena

A huge selling point of Dragon Ball: Kakarot was the promise that it would give fans a chance to freely fly around the Dragon Ball world. These maps were so expansive that fans often didn’t run into a barrier that reminded them that the world wasn’t one large, seamless map as they might’ve hoped.

In a game like Xenoverse 2, even the largest of stages aren’t as expansive as most of the maps in Kakarot. The Tournament of Power Arena stage in Xenoverse 2 was a letdown, only giving players a small corner of the stage to fight on. With Dragon Ball: Kakarot 2, fans will definitely be given a fully-flushed out Tournament of Power Arena as they fight alongside the other Z-Fighters in the most chaotic battle of the franchise.

3 Xenoverse 3: Longer Shelf Life

No matter how great Dragon Ball: Kakarot 2 might be, there’s a good chance it’ll still be a single-player experience. This inevitably decreases its shelf life, since most players won’t really want to play the story mode several times over by themselves.

By including elements of online play, Xenoverse 3 ensures that a community of gamers will continue interacting through the game years past its release, enabling them to get the most from their money.

2 Kakarot 2: The Sequel Can Only Be Better

Dragon Ball: Kakarot is a good experience that even casual Dragon Ball fans will enjoy, but it’s far from perfect. Almost every aspect of the game could use some kind of upgrade. Still, fans must remember that sequels are usually much better than the original. The Legacy of Goku has a Metascore of 53, while its sequel, The Legacy of Goku II, has a score of 75, indicating just how many improvements were made upon the gameplay from one game to the next.

We live in a world where developers can instantly see every player’s complaint. If they truly care about selling more copies and pleasing fans, Dragon Ball: Kakarot 2 will be infinitely better than its predecessor.

1 Xenoverse 3: Continuation Of An Original Story

While Dragon Ball: Kakarot allowed players to experience Dragon Ball Z’s story in a new way, it was still the same story they’d seen time and time again. The Xenoverse franchise gave fans a brand new story and even new characters! Xenoverse 3 will only expand upon this story by delivering even more new characters and scenarios as players find themselves preventing history from being drastically altered yet again.

Any fan of the anime can appreciate having an original storyline to play through instead of a regurgitation of something they’ve seen hundreds of times, ensuring that Xenoverse 3 will be as huge of a hit as its predecessors.
