Her success story began in 2010 as she began to cosplay with self-taught costumes, eventually being discovered by the Houston Grand Opera and Houston Ballet. For many, this may be surprising given her controversial internet personality, but it’s not a bad one.
A Huge Rise and Fall in Popularity
Even for those who do not follow or subscribe to Amouranth, it’s clear that she is incredibly popular. Her current Twitch numbers are no laughing matter, but a minor controversy not too long ago created an interesting spike and downfall in those numbers. At one point earlier this year, Amouranth accidently exposed herself on camera during a wardrobe mishap, for which Twitch banned her. This only lasted three days, but upon her return, she had gained over 400,000 followers in that week. Wardrobe mishaps and understandable mistakes aside, Amouranth has a reputation for breaking Twitch’s rules, or at the very least, pushing its boundaries a lot. In short, Amouranth has been accused of reading chat while driving, streaming on private property without permission, streaming a copyrighted movie, and promoting NSFW content, all of which are just a few times Amouranth has broken Twitch’s Terms of Service.

It’s no secret that a streamer can make a pretty penny. Recently, Twitch signed exclusivity deals with Dr Lupo, Lirik, and TimTheTatman, which are estimated to be in the millions of dollars range. Similar deals were likely offered to Ninja and Shroud when they jumped to Mixer, but in Amouranth’s case, there are a few varying factors. First, she is not as big of a name as Ninja, and second, she has a lot more than just streaming support her net worth.
