The mish-mash of two popular franchises has finally come to pass in the incarnation of Street Fighter x Tekken- and there is now some luxurious gameplay available to salivate and whine about.

SF x T is one of two games that will feature characters from one fighting game franchise transplanted into an entirely different fighting engine, the other being Tekken x Street Fighter.

Street Fighter x Tekken will be using the Street Fighter IV engine. A slightly easier translation for the Tekken characters, who do not possess elements seen in Street Fighter, namely things like fireballs or other projectile based special moves.

Street Fighter remains a highly popular, if not the most popular, fighting game franchise the world has ever known. Any fighting game fan would be shamed if they didn’t know of Ryu or Ken. On the flip side, Tekken, while a great franchise, isn’t a title that probably jumps immediately to gamers’ minds.

The thing to note immediately about the gameplay footage is the inclusion of a tag-out system. Both opponents have control over two characters (similar to Tekken Tag Tournament) that can be switched in at any time. Like TTT, well timed tag-outs can result in two character combos (or juggles) that can unleash massive damage. Take a look at the gameplay for yourself.
