Tin Star, the arcade shooter developed by Taito, is on its way to the Switch and the PlayStation 4 (via Destructoid).
If you recognise the name of the company, well, it’s because it’s widely known for Space Invaders, that little fixed shooter game that you might have played at some point in your life. Tin Star is one of its rarer games, but now it’s getting a revival on the Switch and the PlayStation 4, priced at $8.00.
The game involves a lone sheriff fighting against a gang of baddies, defending his town from their invasion as they take over storefronts, saloons, barns, and duke it out in the wild wilderness. It was sophisticated for its time, showing off environmental kills, shattering glass bottles, and splashing water animations. The PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X may mark the advent of a whole new era of gaming, but they can’t beat a classic.
