A Dedicated Xbox Cloud Gaming Streaming Device Is Reportedly On The Way In The Next 12 Months

It’s being claimed that Xbox is gearing up to release a dedicated Xbox Cloud Gaming device in the next year.

That’s according to VentureBeat’s Jeff Grub, who claims such a device is on the way. According to them, the device is part of the company’s Xbox Everywhere initiative, which sees to bring Xbox gaming to folks without an Xbox console. In fact, last week’s launch of Fortnite on the service was apparently related to this scheme.

For those who don’t want an Xbox Cloud Gaming device sticking out of their TV, there could be another option. The report also claims that Microsoft is working with Samsung to integrate the technology into its Smart televisions. This will take the form of a dedicated app, and also release in the next twelve months, it says.

While Xbox hasn’t confirmed the news, it’s made no secret of its intentions. Back in 2020, Phil Spencer spoke to The Verge on the console manufacturer’s Cloud Gaming plans. While he stopped short of confirming an Xbox TV stick completely, he did say – when asked about a potential Xbox app for televisions – that “I don’t think anything is going to stop us from doing that.”
