The TiMi Studio Group – part of Tencent Games – has announced it’s teaming up with Capcom to make a mobile game based on the Monster Hunter series.

While details are slight at this early juncture, both parties promise the game – currently in development – will “reproduce the hunting actions that define the Monster Hunter series” on mobile.

There’s no release date for the project just yet, and no word on any kind of beta, but we’re promised more information in the coming months.

The TiMi Studio Group certainly have the pedigree when it comes to mobile games – being behind such titles as Call of Duty Mobile and Pokémon Unite to name but two.

As per the press release “The first-time partnership between TiMi and Capcom will combine the experience and strengths of both sides, allowing Monster Hunter to scale to more platforms with an aim to give global hunters – experienced or new – the freedom to hunt as they desire, anytime and anywhere.

Among the more recent games in the Monster Hunter series was of course Monster Hunter Rise that arrived for the Nintendo Switch in 2021. It soon made its way to PC, and got a Sunbreak expansion earlier this year.

As Josh in his review “Rise seizes you in the tight loop of its play: Hinoa offers you a handful of missions, each to be accepted with a satisfying red stamp, that have you sallying forth in search of action.”

We’ve also seen the release of Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin – which was a different, more story focused RPG spin-off.

It’s not yet known what form Monster Hunter Mobile (as we’re dubbing it for now) will take, but expect to hear more in the coming months.
