A new Beyond Good & Evil game is now in pre-production at Ubisoft, creator Michel Ancel has revealed on instagram.

Alongside the image of a Rastafarian rhino, Ancel wrote: “Endangered species – now saved – Game in pre-production – Stay tuned !”

Ancel has been teasing a new Beyond Good & Evil game over the past week, posting images of what appeared to be a baby Pey’j, the adoptive uncle of Beyond Good & Evil’s Jade, and an anthropomorphic shark.

The baby Pey’j image was accompanied by the text: “Somewhere in system 4 … – Thanks #ubisoft for making this possible !”

System 4 is the location of the planets from BGE.

The only downer about Ancel’s latest post is that a game in pre-production isn’t likely to be released anytime soon. Perhaps a trailer of sorts to make it all official could be premiered at the end of year The Game Awards on December 1.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot recently confirmed that Ancel is working on two titles. “He has one game that he is doing as an independent and he’s also working on a game with Ubisoft,” said the CEO.

The independent game is Wild, announced for PS4 in 2014.
