Trials on Tatooine, a free Star Wars VR experiment appears to be just the start of ILMxLAB’s virtual reality offerings, with last weekend’s Star Wars Celebration confirming the development of a more complete VR title this time focussing on Darth Vader.

Road to VR reports that the new VR title is being created in collaboration with acclaimed screenwriter David Goyer, best known for his work on Nolan’s Batman films.

“It exists within the Star wars universe, it involves characters that you know or some that may have been talked about but you haven’t seen before and it will be adding to the existing canon.”

“So we’ve got the entire Star Wars universe at our disposal. What planet do we want to be on, what location, what character is so iconic that we need to know more about this character?” explained Goyer.

A short teaser trailer was then shown, revealing Darth Vader.

Unlike the now released Trials on Tatooine VR experience, the new Darth Vader title will be “non experimental,” indicating we’re looking at a much fuller experience.

“We’ve got this incredible new storytelling platform that allows you to feel in a way that you’ve never felt before,” added Goyer, “and possibly feel for someone that you’ve never felt before, and allows you to feel like you’re really in a real place.”
