The final mix of Star Wars: The Force Awakens is complete, director J.J. Abrams revealed in an interview with Stephen Colbert at the N.J. Performing Arts Center.

In fact the final mix of the highly anticipated film was completed at 2.30am on the morning of November 21, the same day the interview took place.

The director also revealed that there was still six important things to do on the movie, but wasn’t ready to give anything away. However, Abrams did confirm he’d kept to his promise of toning down his trademark use of lens flare.

Although The Force Awakens will feature some lens flare where necessary, Abrams noted that “this is not the movie for that”.

“These are not the flares you’re looking for,” he concluded.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens December 17.
