There are three new abilities acquired from Books of Knowledge in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris. However, you don’t need the expansion to try out new skills. These were added as a free update for version 1.3, and you can try them out if you have the skill points to spare. Here’s our Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris unlockable skills guide for the version 1.3 free update.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris – New skills from the version 1.3 free update

The power level cap in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s base game is 410. Then, as part of an update coinciding with Wrath of the Druids‘ release, we saw that climb to 427 power. Now, the version 1.3 free update has a whopping 466 power cap. This is due to several nodes that provide additional buffs for Eivor, as well as nine new skills (three for each branch). As usual, you’ll earn mastery points again only after you’ve activated all the nodes/skills.

Bear/red

Heidrun Slam – Sprint, then press both the sprint button and left-click to do a flying knee strike. This sounds like a decent skill on paper. Unfortunately, it’s a lot harder to pull off. Pressing the sprint button again will sometimes cancel the action, whereas simply hitting left-click will make Eivor do a charging swipe.

Idunn’s Heart – This is one of the most useful new skills in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris. After taking damage, you’ll be able to regenerate a portion of your HP within a few seconds. This is great since you’ll fight lots of soldiers, and you’d need to contend with rat swarms, too. You won’t have to waste rations just to heal up after an encounter.

Raven/yellow

Light Fingered – Allows you to pick up loot by going near stuff (no need to press the interact button).

Thrill of War – Gradually fills up your adrenaline meter by remaining in combat. This is fairly useful due to all the battles you’ll be in.

Wolf/blue

Survival Instinct – When you have less than 1/3 of your HP remaining, you can exchange adrenaline for a bit of health. Honestly, Idunn’s Heart is more helpful, so you should obtain it first.

Wolf Warrior – Increases your damage the lower your health is. This wouldn’t really be used often if you have Idunn’s Heart active.
