Activision has said that it is sorry for confusing UK consumers regarding the availability of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s Nuk3town pre-order promotion, according to a response by the ASA.

Many gamers were left dumbfounded after it transpired that GAME was the only UK retailer handing out codes to download the in-demand Nuketown revamp, despite trailers suggesting otherwise. It was only if you spotted the small print that you’d have known the content was exclusive to GAME.

The Advertising Standards Authority has now had its say, after being contacted by Black Ops 3 buyers.

Activison told the ASA that it has been “made aware of the problem” and had already taken action to “remedy the situation”.

Activision said it has taken steps ensure something like this doesn’t happen again, with the ASA feeling that no further action is needed.

Whilst Activision doesn’t appear to be proactively handing out Nuk3town codes, reports on other forums suggest that contacting the publisher’s support channels could result in you bagging the map. That’s got to be worth a go.
