Nintendo has announced a delay for upcoming remaster project Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, which will now launch next year.

The company first broke news of the delay on the Nintendo of America Twitter account. It said simply that “The game just needs a little more time for fine tuning. You’ll be battling with Andy and friends soon! Thanks for your patience.”

The package was announced back during Nintendo’s E3 2021 broadcast and was originally set for release this December. It’s set to tie both original games in the beloved handheld strategy series together with a fresh lick of paint. You’ll fight alongside several Commanding Officers from both games, including Andy, Max, Sammi and more.

As well as both the original Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising campaigns, there’s also a Versus Mode. Up to four players will pick themselves one of the Commanding Officers, each with their own powers, and battle across dozens of maps. You’ll be able to customise these battles to suit you, including funds per allied base or the fog of war.

Provided there aren’t any further setbacks, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp will now launch in Spring 2022, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
