This past week, Twitch streamer Alinity has been garnering attention from the streaming community for some strange behavior from her dog. In numerous examples cited by Twitch clips, Alinity’s dog can be seen placing its nose in an inappropriate area on the streamer’s body.
Given that it’s Alinity, a streamer who is regularly at the center of controversy and conspiracy theories, some assumed that this was a behavior that was trained. Without getting too graphic, a conspiracy theory arose that suggested Alinity trained her dog to do what it was doing and called for Alinity’s ban from Twitch.
It was an absurd theory in its own right, but rather than face continued criticism Alinity wanted to set the record straight. She took to Twitter to explain that her dog was likely sniffing in that area because she was on her period. Alinity then explained that there are at least 48 broadcasted days where her dog is likely to demonstrate this strange behavior.
Everything started when a montage of clips featuring Alinity’s dog Luna sniffing her crotch was posted onto Reddit. Without question, the video’s creator was hoping to stir the pot and put a little conspiracy theory into the air. The clip soon caught fire on a number of Twitch-related subreddits, and given that it’s Alinity, some started believing she actually trained her dog to do this.
After the recent controversy over Alinity’s treatment of her cat, anything that features the Twitch streamer and animals is sure to generate attention. A few months ago, Alinity tossed her cat over her head in an aggressive manner. Many saw this as a form of animal abuse and called for Twitch to act. Even PETA requested that the Twitch streamer receive a ban for her behavior.
But when Twitch did not ban Alinity, a subset of the streaming community began to latch onto Alinity in the hopes of finding different behavior that might get her banned. This is just the latest in those attempts.
To Alinity’s credit, the streamer is taking the attention in stride and plans to read some of the funniest conspiracy theories live on stream. Regardless of how things may or may not have been mishandled with the cat-throwing situation, it’s safe to say that her dog’s actions are harmless.
