After a long and busy offseason, MLB The Show is starting to rumble out of hibernation as it begins to slowly roll out the latest news on its new upcoming edition set to hit stores this Spring. With the release date and cover athlete revealed for MLB The Show 23, there are several other crucial details regarding the new game that are still unknown at this time as well.
That said, the wait for the first bits of news is finally over, as MLB The Show revealed its cover athlete for The Show 23 today, January 30th, 2023 at 12PM PT / 3PM ET / 8PM GMT.

The cover athlete reveal for The Show was the first major announcement for the new game. The Show’s live stream also shed light on other important details about the 2023 edition, including when the Pre-Orders go live for the game.
Over the course of this past week, MLB The Show was dropping a few clues on who the cover athlete might be, though not all very easy ones. But without another moment to spare, we present you the MLB star that will be on the cover of MLB The Show 23.
MLB The Show 23 Cover Athlete
This year, MLB The Show selected Miami Marlins All-Star shortstop / second baseman (and now outfielder) Jazz Chisholm Jr. to be their 2023 cover athlete. Though Chisholm Jr. only played 60 games last season, the soon-to-be 25-year-old and first All-Star finished with 14 HRs, 54 RBIs, 12 stolen bases, and an OPS of .860.
The Show cover athlete Twitch live stream was hosted by MLB Network Journalist, Robert Flores, and featured a guest appearance with NBA All Star Donovan Mitchell.
In addition, The Show live stream also covered a trio of new jerseys that were created by artist and entrepreneur known as King Saladeen. One of these new MLB jerseys will be featured in the new game and can be voted on via The Show’s website.
