Giddy up, cowboys! Them programmers at Gamemill Entertainment done and gone made a dancing game just for us rural folk. Finally we can get our jig on with the announcement of Country Dance for the Wii.
Michael Jackson: The Experience and Just Dance 2 not doing it for you? With cowboy boots intact, players can dance their straw hats off to over 25 different country classics, including:
- Brad Paisley, “Water” Sugarland, “Stuck Like Glue” Trace Adkins, “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” Tim McGraw, “Just to See You Smile” Zac Brown Band, “Chicken Fried” Rascal Flatts, “Life is A Highway” Blake Shelton, “All About Tonight” Miranda Lambert, “White Liar” Johnny Cash, “Ring of Fire” Carrie Underwood, “Cowboy Casanova”
After a few glasses of moonshine, players can mimic their on screen character with the Wii Remote to earn points and become the hippest cowboy player on the country block. How complicated will these on screen dance moves be? Let’s just say it will put Garth Brooks to shame (he can dance, right?). In preparation, you better read up on how to master the square dance before you end up looking like a fool.
Dancing isn’t everything in Country Dance. In fact, you can customize your character’s outfit to match all the latest country styles. We can only assume this means the selection of outfits will vary from a choice of overalls to 5 different colors of plaid. You may even get to accessorize your character with unique belt buckles representing your favorite brand of truck. At least we can dream.
You don’t have to get your jig on alone though; You and a friend can both master the ancient fine art of country dance with cooperative play! Just remember, a country block is much longer than a city block, so ensure your cooperative dance date is scheduled well ahead of time.
Check out some screens below as “Happy” and “Outlaw” battle it out for the ultimate dancing bragging rights. Just try to pick a better username when you start square dancing in your barn, because nothing screams “I’m going to two-step all over you” like an in game name of ‘Happy.’
