Last night on Late Night, Jimmy Fallon debuted the trailer for the live-action series Dragon Age: Redemption. Directed by Peter Winther (Independence Day) and with cinematography by John Bartley (Lost), fans of the Dragon Age universe are likely in for a treat.
For those wondering when it will come out, filming has been completed and the series is nearing release. Six episodes will be released online later this year, and will be centered around the trials of Tallis, a persona which actress Felicia Day created specifically for herself.
Tallis, an elven assassin, is set on a quest by the Qunari to find a mage who is seeking to bring destruction to the world. Through the six episodes, she’ll be joined by a mix of characters who bring diversity, talent, and even a little evil of their own to the playing field. Thus far, there’s no mention about how long each episode will be – we’ll keep you posted as more news comes out.
“Tallis is headstrong, she fights dirty, and she has a really sarcastic sense of humor. I wanted to bring a modern sensibility to a fantasy character in a fantasy world. I’m a huge Dragon Age fan, and I have been looking for a follow up project to ‘The Guild’ for quite some time. I was thrilled when the opportunity to work with BioWare materialized. Dragon Age: Redemption allows me to tell a fantasy story in a new way, using a universe I really love. It has been a dream working together.”
In the trailer, you’re certain to catch Tallis pulling off some impressive fighting maneuvers. I don’t know about you, but I think anyone who can complete backflips and throw knives is a force to reckoned with.
Without further ado, here’s the trailer for Dragon Age: Redemption.
