Pre-Season content has finally been released after it was initially delayed.
We did expect the release to be 6 PM BST / 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET on the 20/08, however, EA kicked off the promotion a few hours later.
Just like with FUTTIES, EA will release ‘Best of’ players in batches – and we can expect a lot of them! Last year there were 200 players available in Pre Season.
These can be acquired by completing SBCs and objectives, which EA will reveal once the event goes live.

How long will FIFA 22 pre season last?
We don’t have a definite time frame but by looking at last year’s event, we can get an idea.
In FIFA 21, FUT 22 rewards earned during Pre-Season were granted by 12 October 2021. FUT 22 rewards had to be redeemed by logging in to FUT 22 by 12 November 2021.
This year, all pre-Season rewards are untradeable and FUT 23 rewards earned during Pre-Season will be granted by 13 October 2022.
FUT 23 rewards must be redeemed by logging in to FUT 23 by 14 November 2022.
It makes sense for Pre-Season to stop when the game launches at the end of September, as there will be other weekly events, such as Team of the Week, which could end up clashing.
What rewards did we see last year?
If it’s anything like last year, you’ll be able to get coin boosts and packs that you’ll be able to use on FIFA 23. Other items such as Consumables, Player Loan Items and more will also likely arrive in the coming weeks.
Also, be warned. FUT Pre-Season rewards do not carry over from one console vendor to another (e.g. from the PlayStation line of consoles to Xbox’s or vice versa).
What cards arrived in FIFA 21 Pre Season?
The ‘Best of’ batches contained player cards from a number of promos, including Team of The Year, Shapeshifters, FUT Fantasy and Team of the Season.
The full list of players released can be found on a EA-created Google Doc here
Particular standouts were Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s 99-rated Shapeshifters cards and Karim Benzema’s 98-rated Team of the Season card.
What is FIFA 22 Pre Season?
FIFA 22 Pre Season lets players unlock rewards and bonuses for both the current game and FIFA 23. These rewards come in the form of Packs, Consumables and Player Loan Items.
How long does FIFA 22 Pre Season last?
EA hasn’t yet confirmed how long the promo will run for, but as per FIFA 21, we’d expect it to be active right up to the release of FIFA 23 at the end of September. Last year, FUT 22 rewards had to be redeemed by logging in to FUT 22 by 12 November 2021.
Do FUT 22 Pre-Season rewards carry over to different consoles?
According to EA, FUT 22 Pre-Season rewards do not carry over from one console vendor to another. So, if you get rewards on PlayStation, you won’t be able to transfer them to Xbox, and vice versa.
