EA is set kick off the FIFA 23 closed beta today (August 11th).
The closed beta will allow players on Xbox and PlayStation some hands on time with FIFA 23 and its new features ahead of the game’s official release of Friday, September 30.
You’re able to pre-load the beta immediately and it’ll allow you to play Career Mode, Kick Off Online Friendlies, Online Seasons and Practice Mode.
The Beta is not available to players on Nintendo Switch, Stadia, or PC.
FIFA 23 closed beta release time
The beta starts August 11 at 10:00am PDT, that’s 17:00 GMT. It runs until September the 1st.
During previous FIFA games’ closed betas, there were two waves of invites. So if you don’t receive any word this week – keep an eye out. They may welcome more players into the beta before it ends.
This year’s game will include HyperMotion 2 technology as its new banner feature. Also promised are the addition of Women’s Club Football and cross-play. However, EA recently came under fire when fans learned this wouldn’t extend to Pro Clubs mode.
FIFA 23 will be the final EA football game under the FIFA banner. From 2024, the series will go under the new moniker EA Sports FC.
How to download the FIFA 23 beta
Once you have found your code, which has been sent to your account, here’s how to activate and download it.
- Select the PS Store whilst logged in to your accountSelect Redeem Code at the top of the menuEnter the code and then download the beta
How will you know if you’vee been selected for the beta
How will I know I got into the FIFA 23 Closed Beta?
If you’re selected, EA will send a code to selected FIFA players in the US and the UK who are opted in to get EA emails, to the email address that’s linked to their EA Account.
Emails include a Closed Beta access code for PlayStation or Xbox.
Can you use a friend’s code?
We would advise no. As EA states on their website: “Sharing codes not only goes against our rules, but each Closed Beta code is unique to your account. If you were to redeem someone else’s code, it wouldn’t let you play because each one is tied to one EA Account.”
