Like everyone else, Modern Warfare 2 has gotten into the festive spirit this holiday season with a Christmas version of one of its newest maps.
Entitled Holiday Shipment, the close-quarters map now features a tinsel-clad makeover for a couple of weeks.
If you’ve always wanted to see the Shipment map in all its Christmas glory, then you can do so now. Read on to find out more about CoD’s holiday iteration of this classic location.
Holiday Shipment – start and end date
The special Holiday Shipment playlist is now available and will run from December 21, 2022 until January 4, 2023.
During this time, the halls will be decked – or rather, the decks will be… halled? – with bows, wreathes, festive tinsel and more decorations.
Alas, according to the Call of Duty Blog, there won’t be any mythological creatures during this year’s festivities.
In previous iterations, Call of Duty has occasionally marked Christmas with a special Krampus character – who could appear in Warzone and MW2 as a super-powered NPC who’d attack your squad, and anyone who attacked him.
The tradeoff was that, if you managed to take him down, he’d drop some excellent loot for you and your squad.
Holiday Shipment – how to play the festive map
You’ll be able to play the Holiday Shipment map by simply starting the game and finding a Shipment match regularly.
You will no longer need to create a Private Match in order to play at this specific area since it’s now widely available.
You’ll be able to play with friends and other random players and you’ll also finally be able to earn XP from playing on said map.
