Does anyone else remember when Ubisoft said it wouldn’t saturate the market with yearly sequels? I swear we just had a Far Cry game come out recently. Well, it looks like we have another one already in the works, and it will be revealed tomorrow during The Game Awards. So much for self-control, Ubisoft. While prior Far Cry games settled in a certain location, from tropical islands to American boonies, this new one looks to follow an event....

Back in February, Bloomberg reported that Activision planned to delay Call of Duty‘s 2023 entry, which is thought to be developed by Treyarch. This would be the first time that the yearly Call of Duty cycle will be broken. However, as spotted by PCGamesN, Activision has now hinted that premium Call of Duty content could be in thee works for 2023 after all. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will launch on October 28....

Activision’s takeover of Blizzard was “like a frog in a boiling pot of water”, Diablo 3’s former lead designer has said. Jay Wilson, who no longer works for Blizzard, spoke at a Diablo retrospective panel discussion at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo on 15th October, alongside producer Matt Householder and sound designer Matt Uelmen (spotted by TheGamer). An audience member asked Wilson about the impact of Activision’s 2008 Blizzard buyout....

As games become more and more advanced, players have had to step up their game in order to keep up with new technologies, and now Activision seems to be making new technology to keep up with players. According to a new patent filed by Activision, along with an older one from 2014, they seem to be working on using player data in order to create NPCs and bots for players to fight against in multiplayer games....

Though Team Bondi, the developer behind L.A. Noire, could have easily remained complacent with the MotionScan technology they utilized for their recently release detective crime thriller, the company has come out to say that they have plans to expand the performance capture tech to include entire the entire body.
