Fallout 4 is, at best, a really fun ride, and, at worst, a controversial shoot-and-loot game. Many old Fallout fans were unimpressed by the voiced protagonists, the few conversation options, the simplistic kill-and-loot quests, and lots of other things. Other players enjoyed the beautifully developed world, the excellent gunplay, and building crazy complex settlements to store their power armor. But one thing that everyone can agree on is that the plot…doesn’t always make sense....

2K Games, the publisher behind franchises such as Borderlands and BioShock plus sporting series such as NBA 2K and WWE 2K, has acknowledged its customer support services were hacked. In a warning post on Twitter, 2K said it had become aware “an authorised third party illegally accessed the credentials of one of our vendors” and sent a “communication” to certain players containing a malicious link. You should not open any emails or click any links you receieve from 2K Games’ support account, the company warned....

Almost four out of every five physical copies of Final Fantasy XV sold in the UK last week were on PlayStation 4, according to figures revealed by GFK Chart-Track. 79% of Final Fantasy XV’s physical first week sales were on PS4, the sales-tracking firm says, with Xbox One accounting for just 21%. The high volume of PS4 sales led to Final Fantasy XV being the best-selling game on Sony’s console last week, but only the sixth best-selling on Xbox One, coming in behind the Xbox One versions of Forza Horizon 3, FIFA 17, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Minecraft: Xbox Edition and Battlefield 1....

It’s not hard to take a few shots at Call of Duty these days. The most profitable, most well-known video game franchise in the world today doesn’t get to that kind of popularity without its share of critics. The confidence of the developers and publishers hasn’t waivered one bit it seems, as Activision is now claiming that the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will not just meet the same levels of sophistication as past releases, but will go even further, pushing the entire genre of shooters forward....

Procedurally generated and voxel-based RPG Cube World will be available in its final form by the end of October according to an announcement from the game’s developer. This news comes six years after the first alpha for Cube World was released. In a Tweet last week, Cube World developer Wolfram von Funck revealed that the final version of the game would be released on Steam by the end of October 2019....

While it is par for the course that Nintendo often strays away from violent games and has a reputation of porting inferior versions of well regarded titles, the port of Alien: Isolation looks like it fits right at home on the Switch.
