Microsoft has ignited rumours about a PC version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, after confirming ’exciting news’ on the collection will drop during Inside Xbox next week. The new episode will air on Tuesday at 10.00pm UK time, and will also feature fresh info on DayZ, One Piece World Seeker, and Xbox Game Pass. In regards to Halo: The Master Chief Collection, nothing has been confirmed about a PC version, but insider Brad Sams reckons it’s ‘close to release....

New details about Striking Distance Studios’ new sci-fi horror, The Callisto Protocol, are set to be revealed next week. That’s according to Striking Distance Studios CEO Glen Schofield, who teased yesterday that “now might be a good time to start” keeping an eye on updates from the studio. Up until now, the studio has been playing its cards very close to the chest indeed, but yesterday - fittingly Friday 13th - Schofield teased on his personal Twitter account that we should “look for some news next week”, before dropping the wondeerfully gross image of a close-up of one of The Callisto Protocol’s creatures below....

Polyphony Digital released update v1.03 for Gran Turismo 5 today. The 149MB update includes a significant change to the damage mechanic. However, it only applies to the multiplayer mode. If there’s one thing that the Gran Turismo series is renowned for, apart from being late to race meetings, is its realistic driving experience. High fidelity is the flagship of all of the Gran Turismo games, and rightly so. This begs a question of Gran Turismo 5, why no damage option?...

I am a seasoned gamer. Having now amassed some 27 years in the field of games-playing, I have experienced all manner of emotions when playing certain games. I have felt repulsion, anger, fear and triumph in games before, but I don’t believe I have ever felt so alone, so sad, so isolated and so genuinely unsettled as I did during my time with Limbo. Code Vein is a bigger game than we expected. The number of cutscenes, Blood Codes, bosses, enemy variations, and weapons is pretty huge with tons of optional content as well. The game obviously borrows heavily from the Dark Souls games, but it has an identity all its own too. Revenants rule the earth now, long in the future, after an apocalyptic event occurs. Luckily, our player character and his rag-tag group of anime supermodels are here to save the day....

There used to be a point and time when I used to applaud writers, directors, video game creators, etc. for subverting expectations, even if it meant their final product came off a bit more convoluted than intended. Sonic Frontiers‘ marketing has turned out quite bizarre so far, and yesterday served as no exception. Not only did Sega host a Sonic Central stream that revealed a small snippet of new Sonic Frontiers gameplay and other bits of Sonic news, but IGN also published a hands-on preview for the game that occurred at the exact same time. Most fans likely tuned in to the Sonic Central event first, which showed off a new boss fight that....

Activision Blizzard has announced it is “suspending new sales of and in [its] games in Russia” whilst its unprovoked war against Ukraine persists. The company is also matching employee donations 2:1 to organisations “providing immediate relief in the region”. In a press release, Activision Blizzard president and COO Daniel Alegre said the company was committed to helping “those impacted by this terrifying violence and to provide assistance in every way possible”....

Now that we know what Treyarch’s next Call of Duty game will be, Call of Duty: Black Ops (AKA Call of Duty 7: Black Ops), we can all breathe easy for we will have our holiday Call of Duty fix.
