For the first time in Pokémon history, games from the mainline released on a console. Poké fans are outwardly exuberant since they have wished for a main series console game for years. Played on the Nintendo Switch platform, Sword and Shield are filled with the potential for greatness, but also woes and shattered dreams. Before you celebrate, it should be known that Sword and Shield are far from perfect. Some Poké fans are upset with developer Game Freak for a plethora of reasons....

Approximately four out of five console copies of Battlefield Hardline were sold on Xbox One and PS4, EA has revealed, leaving just 20% of sales on Xbox 360 and PS3. The figure, EA says, is an illustration of “how far the [console] transition has already come”, even if it doesn’t intend to drop support for last-gen consoles yet. “So we will see a slow movement away from Gen-3 [Xbox 360 and PS3],” EVP Blake Jorgensen stated during the publisher’s latest earnings call last night....

Live service games can either be a hit or miss. They have to constantly update with new, exciting content to keep their audiences coming back. The Division 2 is one of those games, and apparently, it’s been doing more thriving than surviving. A blog post to the game’s page announced that the Warlords of New York expansion released last March brought “the highest monthly active users for The Division 2.” However, developer Ubisoft Massive is looking to grow that number by the end of the year....

Buckle up, monster slayers, the new Monster Hunter title will have players facing off against monsters on your phone in a new release by Capcom. Monster Hunter: Riders will be free on the app store in Japan on the 29th, but there’s no word when we’ll get an English localization. This is the second mobile title launched by Capcom in two years, and will feature an anime style with monsters seen from the Monster Hunter series....

It’s been revealed on the PlayStation blog that an in-development VR project that recreates Chernobyl and Pripyat will be coming to the PS VR. The Chernobyl VR Project is in development by The Farm 51, the studio behind Get Even, and is an interactive journey into the abandoned city of Pripyat, the surrounding areas and the nearby nuclear plant. This project is being created both as an interactive visual tour and an educational insight into capturing the stories behind the event....

The Nintendo 64 was a great console, with a small but excellent library of games. The only drawback for some people was the controller. Its three pronged design looked ahead of it’s time but was functionally a bit of a ball ache (the analogue stick was great though, that can’t be disputed). There have been a lot of news stories recently concerning classics cards from the Pokémon Trading Card Game selling for lots of money to collectors on eBay. Not all of the cards need to come from the original sets, as a Charizard card has just sold for over ten thousand dollars online and it comes from the recent Hidden Fates set. The vast majority of the Pokémon cards that sell for a lot of money are either very rare or in amazing condition, as they mainly come from the first few sets that were released at the height of Pokémania....

After they were leaked yesterday, the Aladdin and Lion King remasters have been officially announced. Collected together as Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King, the collection will feature a number of enhancements, including cheat codes that will make the notoriously difficult games much easier. The cheat codes included in Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King include some standard ones like level select, invincibility, and infinite lives. Some more modern-style cheats will include a Rewind button that lets players jump back 15 seconds in case they screw up, as well as a feature called the Interactive Game Viewer....
