Alternate endings often shed a different light on a film we thought we knew well. They reveal fascinating insights into the creative process, the chance to look at how a great film is often just a happy accident, and also a chance to see just how mental and awful most filmmakers’ ideas are. 343 Industries has issued a brief statement in a bid to quell concerns about Microsoft’s flagship franchise, Halo. In a brief message, studio head Pierre Hintze said that Halo and Master Chief were “here to stay” and that the 343i team would “continue to develop Halo now and in the future”. “Halo and Master Chief are here to stay,” Hintz said. “343 Industries will continue to develop Halo now and in the future, including epic stories, multiplayer, and more of what makes Halo great....

Gene Okerlund, the voice of a generation of pro wrestling fans, died on Wednesday. Okerlund was an iconic interviewer who broke into the wrestling business with the AWA before gaining fame as the interviewer during the heydey of Hulkamania in the WWF and then in WCW during the nWo years. Okerlund was 76. “A voice and soundtrack to an entire era of our industry. He was the star of some of WWE’s most memorable segments,” WWE executive vice president Paul Levesque said on Twitter....

SEGA is gearing up for a “special” Sonic the Hedgehog reveal at next week’s SXSW to help celebrate the blue blur’s 25th anniversary.
