We hestitate to use the word ‘announced’ because there has been no official confirmation anywhere, from anyone, at any point. But a teaser that’s being claimed as announcing Tropico 6 for 2018 has surfaced on YouTube. A German version has been uploaded by Gamespilot, whilst an English one has been put up by another YouTuber called Bora Durgut, who appears to be Turkish. The trailer shows a man at his desk, listening to the radio and using a social media app called Spitter (it has a llama for a logo, which we think is quietly hilarious) to say it’s ‘Time to get back into the game…’ The video ends on a screen that reads ‘RULE AGAIN 2018’....

Disney released the first proper trailer for Guy Ritchie’s live-action Aladdin remake last night. In it, we got to see Mena Massoud as Aladdin, witnessed the magnificent Agrabah and the Cave of Wonders, and caught a little glimpse of Jafar and Iago, too, along with Aladdin and Jasmine’s first meeting. Which was nice. Then, there came the big reveal – Will Smith as the Genie. Previously, Smith had appeared in some glossy promotional photos for the forthcoming film looking, well, basically like himself, but dressed as a Genie....

The Day of the Devs showcase included the announcement of Alba: A Wildlife Adventure. Alba is being developed by Ustwo Games, a team probably best known for Monument Valley and Assemble With Care. If nothing else, that’s a pretty stunning pedigree: both games are highly regarded — although our Ashley did have some issues with the PC version of the latter. The downside is that… well, we simply don’t know much about this new title....

That film was Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker (or simply Stormbreaker, as it was called in the UK). A fairly faithful adaptation of the first book in Horowitz’s series, with a few added action scenes and beefed out roles for the supporting players, the Stormbreaker movie was an inoffensive way to spend a brisk 93 minutes. The companies that invested in the film – which included The Weinstein Company in the US, and MPC, Samuelson Productions and Isle Of Man Film in the UK – presumably went into the production of the movie hoping to spark an on-going film franchise....

Rare & Xbox have confirmed that classic N64 first person shooter GoldenEye 007 has arrived on both Xbox consoles and Nintendo Switch later this week. Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag - Founder of 100 Thieves - took to Twitter yesterday to announce 100 Thieves would not be participating in the upcoming Call of Duty League next year. The message was a shock to many and held a somber tone, as Nadeshot explained why he (and the entire organization) decided that fielding a team for the Call of Duty League just wasn’t possible at the moment.
