Planet Zoo’s beta is officially over, and after a few bumps, many would consider it a success. We have already seen some fixes, like animal breeding where players ended up with hundreds of babies in seconds, but there is still more to be done. It seems the overall aspect of the game is fun to play, while some more subtle reasons might have players shutting off their consoles. We have uncovered some of the things that Frontier needs to fix before they officially release the game....

The triple-A VR adaptation, on the other hand, has not been too successful. They are often small gimmicks that fail to emulate the success of the original game. For better or for worse, 2018 has been the year of remakes, no one would dispute that. From movies to video games, all sorts of media have been being remade left and right this year. There are few plots out there as convoluted as Metal Gear Solid’s and when you have about 11 games going all the way back to 1987, it’s bound to get convoluted. When you add in clones and cyborgs, it gets even more weird. If you want a “simple” breakdown of the plot, I’d suggest the Starbomb song. Other than that you just have to play these insane games to really get the feel of them and try to connect the dots....

Many people have compared the Pokémon series to a glorified game of rock paper scissors. Every creature is assigned a type that is then strong or weak against other types in the game. The players who succeed know how the types work as well as which Pokémon has which type. What can make this difficult at times is that some Pokémon are hard to tell which type they are. I’m just going to come out and say it; we are in the modern golden age of Spider-Man. First, we get Spider-Man: Homecoming, which brought us a more familiar Peter Parker. Hollands’ wonderful portrayal of Spider-Man returned to the more jovial teenage Parker who I remember growing up with. Then we had Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4, which finally captured the perfect web swinging experience and condensed Peter’s highlights naturally. Making him older immediately side-stepped any initial issues other Spider-adaptations faced....

2K Games is reportedly looking to take on developer Psyonix’s mighty Rocket League, and is currently developing its own spin on the four-wheeled football formula, titled Gravity Goal, that’ll supposedly switch out the cars in favour of TRON-like bikes. That’s according to reliably leaky journalist Tom Henderson who, writing for Exputer, claims Gravity Goal will be “just like Rocket League” in as far as it’ll offer up 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 matches where the aim is for players to knock a ball into a goal using their vehicles....

The Game Boy Advance is a popular handheld console and has plenty of great game options. While it doesn’t have as much power as large consoles like the Xbox of PlayStation 2, it was extremely well-loved. Nothing has been confirmed, but we think it’s safe to say that Grand Theft Auto VI is currently in production. Grand Theft Auto is easily Rockstar’s biggest cash cow, and GTA V made about ten gazillion dollars when all was said and done. It’s clear that they will keep riding this financial wave for as long as they possibly can. We’ve also gone an entire console generation without a Grand Theft Auto game (aside from the GTA V release)....

The plane of Tarkir is the adopted home of Ugin, brother of Nicol Bolas, and his death has massive consequences for the fight against the Eldrazi. So, Sarkhan Vol went back 1,200 years in the past (in the Fate Reforged set) and prevented Ugin’s death....

While Blizzard hasn’t exactly had the greatest month, October holds some positive significance for them as it’s seen one of their best-selling titles of all-time finally making its way to Nintendo’s similarly popular Switch. The software’s family-friendly sensibilities certainly seemed like a natural fit. Yet, outside of a few whispers, there wasn’t even an indication Blizzard would be bringing its prized FPS, Overwatch, to Nintendo’s console until recently. UPDATE 29/9/22: An official video of Wiglett has been shared on Twitter. The video shows new footage of Wiglett not shown in yesterday’s stream. Wiglett is confirmed to be a water type Pokémon, and is based on the garden eel (not a worm as I had previously guessed) in real life. In the video, Wiglett is briefly shown using Water Pulse on a Bonsly in battle. The official Scarlet and Violet website has also updated its list of Pokémon to include Wiglett, which is described as “boasting an exceptional sense of smell”....
