While the fantasy genre is still as popular as it ever was, it’s fair to say that the ’80s was home to some real cult gems. From 1983’s Krull to 1985’s Legend to 1986’s Labyrinth, the decade was populated by a high caliber of weird and wonderful films that blended fairy tales, folklore, and the supernatural with faraway mythical lands. Indeed, few epic fantasy movies boast the beloved nostalgia of a little sword and sorcery 1988 pic called Willow, and surprisingly, it’s currently climbing the ranks of streaming charts right now, likely thanks to the recent release of Disney+’s sequel miniseries....

At Xbox’s E3 2019 conference, it was revealed that the previously-leaked classic real-time strategy remaster, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, will include remastered audio, support for resolutions up to 4K, and a new campaign titled The Last Khans. It will also be available through Xbox Game Pass. The game will be released this fall, and a pre-release beta will be available sometime before then at the game’s website.

Ustwo Games, developer of Monument Valley, is celebrating the launch today of its latest game called Alba: A Wildlife Adventure and have announced their intention of planting a million trees with one for every copy sold. The game puts you in the shoes of Alba who is visiting her grandparents on the island of Pinardel Mar and challenges them to find and photograph more than 60 types of animal in order to stop a hotel being built that threatens the island’s nature reserve....

All Elite Wrestling held its launch rally today in Jacksonville, Fla., at the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL. AEW is the brainchild of Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks, and financing from the Khan family, which owns the Jaguars and has a net worth of a reported $7 billion, made the company a reality. AEW will run its second show — they’re counting All In as their first show — on May 25 in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena....

Lara Croft and the Guardian Of Light is finally receiving a mode that was supposed to be included since launch: cooperative online play with friends. Today Crystal Dynamics announced that the feature will go live on Tuesday, October 27, 2010. Unfortunately, only Xbox 360 gamers will be able to enjoy the multiplayer aspect of the game, as the PC and PlayStation 3 patches will be “coming later.” When the delay of the game’s online co-op was officially announced, gamers were told to sit tight until September 28, when the feature would become active....
