As reported by Gamespot, Ride & Crash Games and Swedish metal band Amon Amarth have launched a 2D platformer where you play as Thor and aim to, as the press release says, ‘cleanse Midgard from all of the vile creatures that are threatening the (ahem) peaceful Viking way of life” The iOS and Android game, titled Amon Amarth after the band, contains four worlds with 12 different levels and ‘four epic battles,’ as well as chip-tune versions of the group’s music....

DC Universe Online is set to release on January 11, 2011 for both the PC and PS3. The game has seen several previews at events like Comic Con and E3 over the past couple of years and recently launched a beta for PlayStation Plus members on the PS3. For those who might not know much about DC Universe Online, however, the game is an MMO set in the DC Universe. Players create their own new and unique character to control and will meet up and work with their favorite DC heroes and villains throughout the game....

Disney’s Epic Mickey is fast approaching and it’s brought along a decent amount of hype with it. So naturally hype brings a lot of questions with it. There is already a fair bit of info about Epic Mickey floating out there on the Internet and GR has even gotten some hands-on time with the game, so when we were able to get an interview with Junction Point’s very own Sean Barton we had to ask some questions that haven’t popped up anywhere else....

Over the past month, gamers have had the opportunity to walk, run, and seek cover on the battlefields of Sera as they took part in the Gears Of War 3 beta. Now that it’s over, the long wait until the game’s September release begins. With E3 2011 right around the corner, at least we have new information about the game to look forward to in the near future. Sony has finally announced the release date for the PSP’s upcoming game God of War: Ghost of Sparta. Mark your calendars for November 2nd because this is in fact the day that you can finally get your hands on the second Kratos filled romp on the PSP. Along with God of War: Ghost of Sparta release details Sony has announced the bonuses that come when you pre-order the title. The pre-order bonus revealed has been given the name The Ultimate DLC Pack, which is certainly an exaggeration....

It’s obvious to even a casual observer of the games industry that there is absolutely no shortage of action-packed, bullet-fueled shooters these days. Some of them even feature enough action and bullet-fueled multiplayer to set incredible records. There is one thing that many of these games fail to do, and that is elicit a strictly emotional response from a player. 10 Dying Light Dying Light is another game set in a world ravaged by an infection that has turned human cannibalistic and forced civilization to come up with some creative ways to survive. Set in the fictional city of Harran, you play as an undercover operative, Kyle Crane, sent into the quarantined city to find a rogue political figure. Crane finds himself traveling through the city to help other survivors and working through a moral dilemma as offering help clashes with completing his mission....

With the first of two Fighter Passes coming to an end with the controversial release of Fire Emblem’s Byleth, speculation has begun for Fighter Pass 2. Names are flying left, right, and center — names of Nintendo characters, names of third-party options, and even the names of characters that aren’t even in video games. Of course, about 99 percent of these are complete hogwash and will never be in Smash Ultimate....

We hate when amazing-looking games turn out poorly, but we’re even more disappointed when an amazing-looking game never releases. Bad games at least give us closure: cancelled games make us regret what could have been. The cancelled games on this list are particularly upsetting because we know exactly how great they would have been. Most teased us with incredible trailers, gameplay videos, and gameplay demos before cancellation. Often, those titles without pre-cancellation footage resurfaced after cancellation....

Our story begins all the way back in 2014, when Bungie, the developers of the wildly successful Halo franchise, gave us something completely unexpected. They gave us half a game. This “half game” was called Destiny, and it was teeming with structural, story, and conceptual problems. Problem Number One was that they did not deliver on what they had promised to fans at E3 and other event shows the year before....

Nintendo is known for having quite a few popular series like The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, Pokémon, and more. When it comes to making great games and good sequels, it seems like Nintendo has it down pretty well. My favorite series would have to be The Legend of Zelda series. I love most of the games, and I’m always excited to see what Nintendo has in store for Zelda fans next....

There are games that reward players for finishing fast and those that punish players for going too slow. Other games even discourage players from straying away from the path that leads to their goal. Not the Fallout series, these games reward players for taking their time. The more time players invest into these games, the more treasures and surprises they discover. Yes, Fallout games actually justify aimless wandering by encouraging players to get off the beaten path!...

The world always needs more Mega Man X. 20XX is still a great time, but a lot of people (myself included) wanted to see it with pixel artwork a la the classics. The gaming gods (or I guess just Batterystaple Games) have heard our digital prayers, and 30XX was granted pixel artwork. Now we’re just a month away from greatness, as the game is set to launch into Early Access on February 17....

One of the world’s best-selling games is the subject of analysis now that the next-generation of consoles is swiftly approaching. Minecraft is synonymous with video games due to its popularity. Its simplicity, combined with its masterful gameplay elements, give it tremendous replay value. It’s widely debated whether Minecraft would benefit from a sequel. Some believe the game is perfect, and couldn’t possibly be improved. Both arguments are valid, which is why it makes sense to compile this listicle....

While the sci-fi genre typically leans into out of this world pseudo science that’s hard to believe (cough Moonfall), a film occasionally comes along that bucks this specific trend. Enter 2016’s Arrival, which is enjoying a second wind on streaming services right now. Crikey, Agent 47 sure gets around. No sooner is the GOTY Edition of the latest Hitman adventure out of the door that it transpires a new Hitman TV series is in development for streaming service Hulu. Deadline broke the news that the TV series will be a co-production between Fox 21 and Hulu, and will see a pilot script written by Derek Kolstad, who is the creator and writer for the Keanu Reeves thriller John Wick....

Remakes are a dime a dozen these days, but it’s fair to say that there’s an art to nailing a remake and getting it just right. Change too much and you’ll anger the staunchest of the hardcore fans. Meanwhile, change too little, and the project threatens to become a soulless carbon copy without an ounce of originality in its clone-like bones. In fact, you only have to look at a popular kids’ tale to see proof of this....

Subscribers to Xbox Game Pass for PC are about to get a trio of new titles to play. Microsoft announced this morning that A Plague Tale: Innocence, Gris, and Children of Morta will be coming to the PC side of its “on-demand” gaming service. While no concrete dates were given, the company notes that these three titles will be arriving before the back-half of January. These additions coincide with a new deal Microsoft is running for Game Pass for PC....
