If this generation of consoles has taught us one thing, it’s that the advent of online gaming has not curtailed the demand for split-screen functionality. With historically supported split-screen games like Halo abandoning the feature – with the series’ most recent release of Halo 5: Guardians – in favor of power and performance, gamers are still able to enjoy a slew of titles with friends and strangers on consoles, albeit over an online infrastructure like Xbox Live or PlayStation Network and not on the same couch....

Battleborn, the hero shooter MOBA from Gearbox Software, will be offline within two years as publisher 2K Games prepares to shutter the game’s servers for good (via DualShockers). Battleborn is no longer shown on digital storefronts and 2K Games released an official explanation of its intentions for the game. Its “sunsetting” stage will involve the removal of features, firstly, the in-game currency will be struck out in February 2020. Players are able to generate the currency and use in the store if they would like to, however....

It’s really a great time to be a comic book fan. Project Stella will combine cute anime girls and giant mechas in a new title from Kadokawa Games. From the same folks that brought us the Front Mission and Armored Core series comes a new title. So far, all we know about the title is the codename: Project Stella. That will almost certainly not be what the final product is called, but that’s what we’ll use to refer to the game for now....

A few months ago, I had the pleasure of checking out Age of Wonders: Planetfall. Triumph Studios took its 4X strategy game with fantasy-RPG themes and sent it all the way to the future. With advanced gadgets and mods, alien species, secret techs, and space-faring races, Age of Wonders: Planetfall was something which I considered as a treat for 4X aficionados. Arcade racing series Ridge Racer hasn’t had a true sequel in over 4 years.
