So you beat the Pokemon Champion of a region and watched some credits, now what? Well, every Pokemon game handled their post content a little differently. Some offered more lands to explore while others gave you more battle challenges. Oftentimes, hardcore players begin to breed for perfect IVs, shiny hunt, and complete their Pokédex. However, not everyone is up for that kind of game. Some players just want to go on more adventures and do more battles....

Going into the sixth console generation, the PlayStation brand looked to be a nearly-unstoppable juggernaut. For a time, it was– PlayStation 2 went on to become, and is still, the best-selling console of all time, hitting a number that may very well never be exceeded. Such was the PS2’s grasp that it simultaneously finished off Sega in the hardware market and very nearly did the same to Nintendo. With all of that going, any company would’ve been crazy to try to take their first stab at a game console during that era– but Microsoft was just that crazy....

H.P. Lovecraft is famous for a brand of cosmic horror which has been imitated numerous times. However, no one has ever told Lovecraftian stories quite like him. His entire Cthulhu mythos is about ancient beings who come to Earth and bide their time until the day they will devour humanity and the world as a whole. While it’s never been announced in an official capacity you know there has to be multiple prototypes out there....

It’s been sixteen years since Ubisoft introduced us to the millennia-long struggle between Assassins and Templars, with the battle affecting gamers more than just in-game, as the franchise has lost its way trying to reinvigorate itself. That said, Assassin’s Creed Mirage looks to mark a notable shift in Ubisoft’s tone for the series, as it is rumored to be much smaller in scale and focused on a narrative-driven experience....

From anticipated sequels like Borderlands 3 to re-releases such as Dragon Quest XI on Switch, this fall has been stacked with meaty RPGs. We would argue that there might have been too many since September, so much so, we are still trying to get caught up. The point is that while time-consuming, we are in RPG heaven right now and there is one more contender up for bat: The Outer Worlds....

Indie darling A Short Hike is to land on Xbox and PlayStation consoles this week, developer Adam Robinson-Yu has announced. The game originally launched on PC back in 2019, before arriving on Nintendo Switch about a year later. As the name implies, it sees you take on the role of Claire who sets out on a trek through Hawk Peak Provincial Park. The key part though, is you get to choose how this walk will go....

Monolith Productions and Warner Bros Games have announced a new action adventure starring DC superheroine, Wonder Woman. Perhaps even more exciting than that, however, is the confirmation Wonder Woman will use Monolith’s Nemesis system. The system was first introduced in Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor and then expanded in follow-up Middle-Earth: Shadow of War. The system offered players to connect with their foes in brand new ways. As a very brief overview, your conflicts with the game’s enemies could have several outcomes....

In a surprise announcement today, Bungie wrote in a blog post that it will be separating from Activision. The Destiny franchise, which has sold over 50 million games and expansions worldwide to date, will come under Bungie’s sole ownership. “We have enjoyed a successful eight-year run and would like to thank Activision for their partnership on Destiny,” wrote the Bungie development team. “Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce plans for Activision to transfer publishing rights for Destiny to Bungie....

As if there wasn’t enough controversy swirling around Overwatch 2 and its questionable Battle Pass already, a new update from Blizzard regarding the First Time User Experience (FTUE) has sparked quite a bit of debate among the player base and members of the press alike. Here’s the short version: new Overwatch 2 accounts will not have access to the full roster of heroes when they first get started. Instead, all game modes and characters will gradually unlock as they play, and they should get access to everything in around 100 games or so....

The first chapter of the long-awaited Left 4 Dead 2 mod, Chernobyl, has been released on ModDB and Steam Workshop. The mod, which has players fighting through the remains of the famous melted-down nuclear power plant in Ukraine, was first announced by a team of four modders in March of 2011. The team has since grown and as of December 2019, almost nine years later, players can finally give the game’s first chapter a try....

Not content to rest on its laurels AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative has another rough puzzle to throw your way. Once Mizuki finds a familiar corpse in the park, you’ll see that there are three letters on both the front and the back of the monument the body is sticking to. The left side says AEF, while the right says RLE. If you’ve been paying attention, you can already solve this puzzle just by looking at the letters available to you....

Every new and improved Call of Duty title has, for better or worse, revamped their gun-toting mechanics. From wall jumping to specialty classes, modern Call of Duty experiences are nowhere near what their early counterparts were like. I’ll never forget bashing my controller to pieces over an annoying noob tuber, or the quick scope only matches. Now it’s all about Battle Royale functionality, player skins, and more weaponry, but I think Activision knows just what it’s doing with their upcoming return-to-the-past Modern Warfare....

Tin Star, the arcade shooter developed by Taito, is on its way to the Switch and the PlayStation 4 (via Destructoid). If you recognise the name of the company, well, it’s because it’s widely known for Space Invaders, that little fixed shooter game that you might have played at some point in your life. Tin Star is one of its rarer games, but now it’s getting a revival on the Switch and the PlayStation 4, priced at $8....

Playing Costume Quest in the weeks before Halloween was a great deal of fun, due in no small part to the holiday theme of the game. Now the first DLC for Costume Quest has been announced, and though it stops short of being an all out Christmas adventure, it does move the game to a more wintery setting. Dubbed Costume Quest: Grubbins on Ice, the episode should be available for download in December....

At this point, the drama over Duke Nukem Forever’s delay is testing the patience of even the most loyal fans. Luckily, those patiently awaiting another chance to step into the jeans and torn gloves of Duke have something other than the game’s launch to look forward to. The release date is still set in stone at June 14 in North America, but now Gearbox has announced that a demo is going to be released on June 3....

Just in time for Christmas, Capcom has released a tiny stocking stuffer for fighting game fans in the form of a Marvel vs. Capcom 3 achievement list. Among the highlights are mode-specific achievements and some that require certain moves to be performed with one of the newer characters, for example Viewtiful Joe. However gamers who were hoping for hints at further character reveals are going to have to look elsewhere....
