They’re portals to other worlds, capable of instantly transporting us away from our humdrum lives and into grand adventures set across lands of astonishing beauty and technological wonders. Sadly, when it comes to day-to-day existence, idyllic scenery and immortality elixirs can’t always make up for a lack of good old-fashioned home comforts. More specifically, it’s shocking how many characters have to deal with atrocious amenities when the time comes for a quiet sit down with a Sudoku in the smallest room of the house – or castle, or mobile attack fortress, or wherever they happen to live....

These warriors are incredibly powerful and are essentially one-person armies that bring death and destruction in their wake. It’s been quite the wild ride for Pokémon GO, hasn’t it? When the app first started rolling out in July 2016, it was very barebones in terms of features and its Pokémon tracking system left a lot to be desired. The video game industry, like every other entertainment-based medium, is run by money. If a game sells well it will assuredly get a sequel. If not, then it will probably get abandoned. Maybe it wasn’t for money reasons either. Whatever the case may be, we, and other gamers out there, have been collectively waiting for these ten examples to finish off their trilogies. More commonly discovered and easily found Pokémon tend to have rather high flee rates. This means that these more common Pokémon are more likely to take off in the middle of a player’s attempts to catch them if things do not go according to plan. This combined with their abundant nature makes these Pokémon rather annoying to deal with. But the more rare Pokémon are a different story entirely. Since it is far less likely that a player will find them in the wild, the more rare creatures have incredibly low flee rates in order to make it far more likely that a player will be able to catch them....

Consoles these days are pretty darn complex. Once upon a time, a game console did nothing but play video games; you simply inserted a cartridge or a CD, and away you went. But now, with the increasing advent of various technologies, consoles are becoming more and more intricate and convoluted. Nintendo and photography company Fujifilm have announced that they’ve collaborated on the release of a new Switch themed version of the latter’s Instax Mini Link smartphone photo printer that will allow you to print photos taken from your Nintendo Switch console. As per the official website, the special ‘SE’ version of the Instax Mini Link will come in a fetching ‘Ash White’ colour with Switch-themed red and blue highlights, and will come with a free downloadable app that will allow you to use your smartphone to connect to your Nintendo Switch via a QR code to grab screenshots from your console and then transfer them to the printer to be printed out on the specific credit-card-sized Instax Mini film....

Robert Eggers’ latest film, a historical epic called The Northman, may have failed to connect in theaters, but it looks like the film has seemingly found an audience, at least internationally, on HBO Max. While the service doesn’t offer the movie in the United States, according to FlixPatrol, The Northman is number one globally on the HBO Max streaming service. The Northman stars Alexander Skarsgard as Viking Prince Amleth, who seeks revenge for his father, portrayed by Ethan Hawke....

If, after the recent insolvency of The Game Company, you were wondering what was going to happen to Polish-developed title Afterfall: Insanity, wonder no longer. The game has been picked up by German publisher Just A Game, which has acquired global sales rights for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Afterfall will be a third-person shooter, set on the post-apocalyptic earth of 2023 and due for release in early 2011. As usual, humanity fled underground when the bombs dropped, but “the dreary ruins of once beautiful cities” now hold dark secrets....
