New Call of Duty players on PC will still need to verify their identity via an SMS message - even though Activision’s other half Blizzard rolled back the unpopular requirement for Overwatch 2 following its beleaguered launch. In a new blog post, Activision confirmed it would require a text-enabled mobile phone number to play the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on PC, and also Warzone 2.0. Today DICE announced the addition of four new maps to Battlefield Bad Company 2. Last Friday they teased an image of what appeared to be Oasis with only a title referencing that the developers were testing the map. Blizzard Entertainment continues to stir up controversy this week as some players claim that the company is blocking efforts to permanently delete their accounts. Blizzard has been the subject of much unwanted attention this week following its ban of Ng Wai Chung, better known by his Hearthstone esports handle as Blitzchung, for making a political statement in an interview following a competitive match. The behavior has widely been criticized on all fronts, ranging from players to American Senators, and longtime consumers of Blizzard games are deleting their accounts permanently to demonstrate their feelings on the behavior shown by the company....

It would appear as though two of the most highly anticipated sequels in the foreseeable future, Mass Effect 3 and Battlefield 3, are going to make their way to portable platforms within the next year.
