Shooting zombies and Bio Organic Weapons will be made portable soon with Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. What better way to get excited about it than with a handy character trailer showing off the game’s roster?

For those not in the know, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D will be one of two Resident Evil games that will be making an appearance on the Nintendo 3DS - the second being Resident Evil: Revelations.

Both games will be taking individual aspects of the RE series, with one continuing the survival-horror and narrative elements of the series with the other expanding on the popular Mercenaries mini-game that first made an appearance in Resident Evil 3.

There’s already been a few trailers out for Capcom’s zombie shooting gallery, including one that has depicted staple characters of the series, Jill and Wesker, but this latest trailer delivers the final line-up of the game’s cast. While the list is impressive, it’s a bit saddening that Leon S. Kennedy isn’t involved in it - but his adventures will be touched upon in Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. In addition, the mini-bosses that players will encounter throughout the gameplay will be selected from Resident Evil 4 and 5, with a few recognizable faces and maybe even one or two new ones.

Check out the official cast of characters below.

Immediately noticeable in this latest trailer is how great the 3DS graphics look - though this isn’t entirely surprising. Our hands-on from GDC 2011 complimented the graphics, so without much doubt, The Mercenaries 3D will be one of the games to beat in the graphics department.

There’s a beauty about Mercenaries that works so well. It takes an “easy to learn, hard to master” approach, challenging players to achieve the highest score possible. However, there are a few characters, namely Wesker, who (in past installments) can dominate Mercenaries without much effort - but where’s the fun in that?

Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D will be releasing for the Nintendo 3DS in Summer 2011.
